Last month the Rodriquez shipyard in La Spezia launched the first YachtPlus fractional ownership superyacht, named Ocean Emerald. Both the interior and exterior of the 41 metre superyacht have been designed by Foster + Partners.
The Rodriquez Shipyard is currently building three more superyachts and last year YachtPlus unveiled their plans for 10 identical superyachts to be built over a period of three years.
Ocean Emerald can accommodate 12 guests in five suites, served by a crew of seven. Powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines, the yacht can reach a maximum speed of 17.5 knots and has a range of 2,400 nautical miles at 12 knots.
In order to join the YachtPlus ownership programme an initial payment of EUR1,850,000 will give a 1/8th shared ownership of the yacht and guarantees 30 full days per year on board; 10 days peak season in the Mediterranean and 10 days peak season in the Caribbean and two five day “cultural cruises.”
