Pendennis recently revealed a series of exciting new exterior and interior renderings on their latest project the Ron Holland 150’ (46m). Announced to the media at the end of 2008 the project is the third collaboration between Ron Holland Design and Pendennis - the first two being the 30.5m SuperMaxi Cap Gemini and the 27.4m sloop Boo Too.
The 150’ ketch went into production at the Falmouth based superyacht yard in late March 2009. The aluminium hull has progressed quickly and is nearing completion together with the engine room structure and fixed part of the keel. Work on the superstructure has recently started and is scheduled to be finished towards the end of the year.
Running in parallel with the fabrication programme, the final interior design detailing process is progressing well to the point that the crew quarters shop manufacture has also started. The first snapshots of the yachts interior show that the Owners have drawn their inspiration from the New England style, with classic white paneling teamed with dark Oak flooring complimented by polished nickel fixtures and fittings.
The Owners have been heavily involved in all stages of the yachts interior and exterior design – working in collaboration with Pendennis, Ron Holland Design and Palm Beach Yachts International to bring their vision to life. One area that they have been particularly interested in is the crew accommodation and living areas, taking great interest in how these spaces are ergonomically designed through maximizing functionality, space and storage.
