Royale Oceanic, the leading large luxury yacht specialist, has recently launched a dedicated yacht management division, Royale Oceanic Yacht Management.
The new service, which has been developed from Royale Oceanic’s extensive experience in the large luxury yacht sector, also draws upon the company’s unsurpassed pedigree in project management, naval architecture, marine engineering and safety regulation.
As part of its expansion strategy, Royale Oceanic has also acquired the yacht management interests of Marblehead Limited, which brings with it a number of retained vessels under management.
Royale Oceanic Yacht Management offers every aspect for the complete management of large yachts, including full Flag State and Class certification, SMS/ ISM, ISPS, technical management, financial crew and shore support services. It specifically tailors each management proposal to suit the owner’s and captain’s requirements.
The move by Royale Oceanic is a well timed entry into what is not only a flourishing market, but an increasingly scrutinised industry.
“This is a natural step for the business,” explains Barry Gilmour, chairman and CEO of Royale Oceanic. “We are already dealing with the commercial project and technical management of some of the most significant new builds and refits in the world and many owners have requested that we continue working with them beyond completion at the yard and through the life of their vessels. “Add to this the fact that the industry is experiencing considerable growth, more discerning clients and increased safety legislation and the need for a more professional operator in this field becomes obvious. We are extremely well equipped to manage large yachts, from developing Flag State approved SMS/ ISM and ISPS and working with captains to manage technical, spares, crew, finances and accounting issues,” continues Mr Gilmour.
Royale Oceanic prides itself in having an extensive team of highly qualified personnel, most of whom are degree educated foreign-going captains, engineers and fleet superintendents. “Our team is made up of managers who are able to provide the highest level of detail and professionalism expected by clients and increasingly required by current and future legislation.”
Steve O’Callaghan, a Class I (Master Unlimited) has been appointed as safety manager for Royale Oceanic Yacht Management. Steve brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in all areas of marine safety management spanning 35 years, during which time he has served both at sea and ashore in a multitude of safety management roles.
Royale Oceanic was born from a need within the superyacht sector for absolute reliability and professionalism in the procurement, development and management of large luxury yachts. With over 50 years’ genuine experience, the company has built an unrivalled reputation within the superyacht sector for discreet, sound and impartial representation, attention to detail and meeting clients’ exacting requirements.
