In early September S.Y Adix returned to Pendennis for her 3rd major refit, the largest vessel to date at 64m to be lifted out using the 400 tonne travel hoist. On this occasion the yacht and her crew are undertaking a 6 month refit programme with Pendennis. Major work items include the repainting of her topsides and inner bullwarks, the rebuilding of her chart house and other minor on deck repairs. In addition an extensive engineering & electrical programme will also be carried out.
The long term relationship with S.Y Adix started in 1990, when the Yacht became one of the first major refits undertaken by the then newly opened Pendennis. This first refit involved major modifications to her hull lines and underwater structure, as well as the removal of the majority of the yacht’s interior. The second visit came in 2000 and this refit had a major engineering focus linked to her MCA certification and a ten year Lloyds survey.
Sean Whitney, First Mate commented “We are glad to be back at Pendennis Shipyard and looking forward to a successful 3rd refit, by a yard and workforce we consider to be among the best in the business.”
In between refits, Pendennis has continued to provide after sales support to the yacht on her many adventures around the world including her recent crossing of the Pacific Ocean and participation in the 2008 Pendennis Cup.
