Measuring 142.8 metres in length, Sailing Yacht A is the design work of Philippe Starck while Dykstra Naval Architects are behind the naval platform and rig design of the vessel which is said to be able to withstand wind speeds up to 90 knots. In addition to those imposing 100-metre-high carbon fibre masts, Sailing Yacht A is fitted with an advanced diesel-electric propulsion system that can deliver a top speed of 21 knots, relying on the power of her twin MTU 20V 4000 ML73 engines in engine mode only. The vessel is operated by a crew of 54 members.
