Baltic Yachts has won a contract to build an all-carbon, custom 33.5-metre sailing yacht, the Baltic 110 Custom. She is the third Baltic superyacht to feature the builder’s electric propulsion system. Construction on the project will commence shortly, with external project management conducted by A2B Marine Projects. The Baltic 110 Custom will be delivered to her owner in 2023.Baltic Yachts 110 Custom yacht renderingThe Baltic 110 Custom has been developed for an experienced owning family and has been designed for long-distance, worldwide voyages. Equipped with the bespoke, signature electric propulsion system which is powered by Lithium-ion batteries and twin, low-emission 129 kW generators with Cummins diesel engines, the superyacht will have reduced emissions, higher levels of efficiency and a quieter drive train with reduced vibration.

In addition to her electric propulsion and generators, she will also sport a lifting keel and a rig package from Southern Spars as well as photovoltaic sun awnings, further improving the Baltic 110 Custom's eco-friendly design.

The sloop has been designed by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design – who previously worked with the builder on the Baltic 112, Liara. The Baltic 110 Custom will feature an array of unique design points, according to Malcolm McKeon: “This design features an all-carbon structure, a telescoping keel and a generous sail plan, which will ensure excellent all-round sailing performance. The exterior styling is new and contemporary and maximises the use of glass in the superstructure to create a light and open interior feel. The interior itself will be designed by Andreas Martin-Löf, which will be his first venture into yacht interior design.”Liara yacht sailingPhoto: Josh Czachur / Breed MediaOf the sale of the Baltic 110 Custom, among other happenings at the shipbuilder, such as the launch of the Baltic 146, Path, and the near completion of the Baltic 117 Custom, Henry Hawkins, the Executive Vice President of Baltic Yachts comments, “I am delighted to report a surge in demand for Baltic Yachts with an increasing number of clients looking at electric propulsion and the other environmentally conscious solutions we can offer.  There’s a clear trend developing in support of low emissions yachting and we are excited to be building another yacht featuring the latest technology which supports a cleaner, greener environment.”Path yacht sailing
