The design of the Mutiara Laut, which means Pearl of the Sea, is based on that of an 18th century North Atlantic schooner combined with some local Indonesian influence: that of the traditional Phinisi-boat. Onboard, she can accommodate up to 12 guests taken care of by a crew of seven. The third day of the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/176" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta - 2023">Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta 2023</a> saw an exciting day on the water, with the Superyacht fleet sparing across the length of the 36 mile course. The highest winds of the week with south-easterly winds building from 10 to 16 knots during the afternoon. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/273496/image/large-a46aed19101b391aa7d08ab94eedda07.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/273496">The Race Committee set both the Superyacht and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/151" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Southern Wind (Company)">Southern Wind</a> divisions a course that took them clockwise around the islands of La Maddalena and Caprera. The first hull in the 35m Nautor Swan 108 yacht series was launched from the Boatbuilding Technology Centre in Pietarsaari, Finland.

The second day of the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/176" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta - 2023">Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta</a> yesterday arrived with excellent winds that picked up during the course of the afternoon. The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/176" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta - 2023">Southern Wind</a> Division started at 11.30 a.m., with a south-easterly wind of around 8 knots, headed for Razza di Giunco beach, where the shipyard had organised a lunch and beach party for its owners and guests.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/273385/image/large-6bea8d0c0c798daa6f51e2b88de93ff1.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/273385">At 1 p.m., with 10 knots of breeze from the south-east, the Superyacht division regatta began and the 33-meter <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5680" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Pattoo33.0m (108'3&quot;)Vitters Shipyard2016">Pattoo</a> was the first yacht off the blocks in the revised staggered starting sequence. The fleet headed upwind towards the south, rounding the islets of Mortorio and Soffi, then came back up under gennaker, through the Bisce pass, with winds that had increased to 16 knots in the meantime. At the mark by the Tre Monti shallows, the superyachts headed for the islet of Monaci, which they rounded before embarking on their upwind return leg to Porto Cervo.
