On a beautiful summer evening S.Y Nostromo - the latest Dubois/ Pendennis collaboration - emerged from the construction hall at the Falmouth Superyacht yard. Built in an impressive 18 months, the 30m aluminum sloop is a true benchmark for British marine engineering design excellence. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/128309/image/large-bdc9b33ae412278d28937c2d87779006.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/128309">Her deck layout, superstructure and hull lines follow the best Dubois concepts to combine fantastic sailing performance with practical, all-weather comfort and usability. Externally, a spacious aft deck offers magnificent opportunities for sunbathing, while the large and comfortable bimini-sheltered cockpit is designed for “al fresco” dining for up to 12 guests. Below decks, the living space is spilt over two levels, taking full advantage of light through the 180 degree panoramic windows and providing the owner with an elegant saloon for dining and general relaxation, together with a spacious and practical pilothouse and deck-level lounge. Sleeping accommodation for up to nine guests is located aft and is spread out over four beautifully appointed en suite cabins complete with the latest audio visual equipment. This is the first time we’ve seen the superyacht, otherwise known as Project 13759. UK-based builder <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1912" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Princess Yachts (Company)">Princess Yachts</a> has announced the latest edition in its S class series, the 25.43-metre Princess S80 yacht. A new industry initiative has been launched by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) that focuses on the impact the yachting industry has on the world’s forests. The initiative encourages clear sustainability goals and open dialogues for more responsible solutions. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/263032/image/large-9840fc3a207fde264c781f549845604d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/263032">“Yachts are an extreme luxury product, but the industry is also an important sector in the innovation of new and greener solutions for the shipbuilding industry in general,” Kristian Jørgensen, technical advisor at FSC Denmark, stated. “We often see innovation in the areas of engine technology, energy efficiency, synthetic fibres, and the direct impact of different materials on the marine environment. But the time has come to pay more attention to the timber that is used.”Timber is a staple resource for the industry, whether that’s teak decking, masts and booms, or interior outfitting – you’ll be hard-pressed to find a yacht that doesn’t make use of the material in some form. The pact set out by the FSC is committed to set standards for the origin of the timber used, to help mitigate risks against negatively impacting endangered forests and the people that live there. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/263015/image/large-b70e3c64fd22b16b99acf0958fc9cea6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/263015">“This initiative encourages businesses to set targets which FSC, with its wide-ranging experience, supports by providing guidance and expert advice. All &nbsp;FSC-certified businesses offering materials or services to yacht building are invited to participate with a supplier’s profile on the website.“When FSC works on the development of policies in a sector, our experience shows that the best way to motivate people is by being clear about the solutions that are easy and close at hand. Everyone can do something immediately by using the existing products on offer. Delivered by the Dutch shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/64" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Oceanco (Company)">Oceanco</a> in 2005, she was launched under her maiden name, Lady Christina. In 2014 the yacht underwent a refit that took place at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/97" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="MB92 Barcelona (Company)">MB92</a> in Barcelona. The project involved extending the main aft deck and adding a new Jacuzzi to the sundeck. The original naval architecture and exterior design were completed by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/64" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Oceanco (Company)">Oceanco</a>, with the architecture, engineering, production and styling of her 2014 refit provided by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/37" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture (Company)">Azure Yacht Design &amp; Naval Architecture</a>. Her interior is the work of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/67" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Zuretti Interior Design (Company)">Zuretti Interior Design</a>. Onboard, the 1,166 GT superyacht can accommodate as many as 12 guests across six staterooms. Performance-wise, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/176" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Sea Walk62.0m (203'5&quot;)Oceanco2005">Sea Walk</a> can reach a top speed of 15 knots and has a 4,500 nautical mile range while cruising at 12.5 knots. She is currently listed for sale with an asking price of €34,750,000.
