The 40.4-metre sailing yacht Vay, built by the Turkish shipyard Su Marine in 2013, is on the market. Vay, for sale following a minor refit in 2018, features naval architecture and exterior designs by the Istanbul-based design firm Taka.
Vay features a ketch rigged layout with plentiful deck space forward and aft. In maintaining the comfortable layout of a Turkish gulet motorsailer, Vay embodies a blend of classic tradition and present-day modernity. Her mid-weight wood hull is a laminated construction of iroko to ensure a safe and easy sail. The flat section midship, combined with a narrower bow, fuller stern and shallow yet relatively long fin keel, provide utmost stability whilst cruising. A fully sail-powered sailing yacht, Vay features custom made aluminium spars with nitronic rod rigging, hydraulic furlers and rigging controls which enable her to cruise at 13 knots. Her stainless steel Lewmar winches are powered by a central hydraulic system.
Sailing yacht Vay can accommodate up to 10 guests across five cabins which comprise one master suite, two VIP cabins and two guest cabins, and can be taken care of by a crew of up to seven.
