Horizon delivers 28m Crowned Eagle to American racing car driver Sandy Satullo

The new yacht Crowned Eagle arrived in the U.S. recently to be delivered to the famous sports racing car driver Sandy Satullo and his partner Sandra Novaes during a christening ceremony at the Hall of Fame Marina in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

As Horizon’s latest FD92 is the FD series, Crowned Eagle is the first tri-deck design and features both an interior pilothouse and an open flybridge – a custom configuration requested by the owners. The new FD92 features a five-stateroom layout with a master, plus crew quarters and a beach club. Outfitted in light satin oak with high-gloss dark walnut accents, the main deck is laid out in the traditional configuration, with the main saloon aft and formal dining and galley amidships. A formal dining area is forward, followed by a galley that can be separated from the saloon via privacy doors and a hi/lo glass partition.Crowned Eagle yacht wheelhousePhoto: Horizon YachtIn the forward master stateroom, the owners incorporated a his-and-hers en-suite as well as dual hanging lockers and storage. A custom backlit headboard and soffit design was also specified for this area. Highlighted with a satin white oak finish, the lower deck houses three queen-size en-suite staterooms as well as a convertible twin en-suite with a Pullman berth. The engine room, crew quarters and beach club are positioned aft of the guest accommodations. The crew area has been designed with a double captain’s cabin and a second cabin with a fixed bunk and Pullman berth.

Horizon is truly a custom builder,” says the owner, Sandy Satullo. Satullo and his partner, Sandra Novaes, made all the broad decisions regarding the boat’s design and interior first with Horizon Yacht USA’s office in West Palm Beach, followed by two trips to the yard in Kaohsiung, Taiwan to work with the on-site design centre on the finer details and customisations.
