Dutch shipyard Damen Yachting has unveiled the latest superyacht of their SeaXplorer range, the SeaXplorer 60. The shipyard has announced that the first unit of the new range is now under construction, due for a 2024 delivery date.
The new yacht, which was started under speculation in order to reduce delivery time for her future owner, will feature hybrid propulsion. The SeaXplorer 60 features exterior design from Azure Yacht Design & Naval Architecture and has a distinctively Damen Yachting style explorer aesthetic.
Rose Damen, Managing Director commented, “Since introducing our SeaXplorer concept in 2015, Damen Yachting has become well-established as the luxury explorer leader. But we expect the future will see even more owners demanding the autonomy, safety and flexibility that the SeaXplorer offers. That’s why we decided to build the SeaXplorer 60 on spec for fast delivery in 2024. She is the only luxury explorer yacht available in her class and an amazing opportunity.”
At 1,160 Gross Tonnage, the explorer yacht features large volume luxury interiors and lots of expedition capability, including wide customisation possibilities for tropical, polar and all sorts of adventures in between.
Some top features of the vessel include a helideck which when the helicopter is not in situ can be used as a 150 square-metre party deck, able to entertain up to 100 guests or alternatively as a basketball half-court. Below the helideck, the SeaXplorer 60 has a flexible configuration for a big range of tenders up to 10.5 metres in length, a submarine, snowmobiles, Jet skis or sailboats.
The yacht has been designed in partnership with EYOS Expeditions, Damen Yachting’s operational partner, and her interiors have been penned by H2 Design. The interiors have a bold palette with warm woods and curves employed throughout to create a calm and homely atmosphere.
So far the in SeaXplorer series, Damen Yachting have delivered the 62-metre Anawa and the 77-metre La Datcha, both launched in 2020, while a 58-metre custom yacht is currently in-build and will be delivered next year.
