An assessment of the damaged yacht found that her steel frames were plagued by rust and rot, making it unclear whether <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1276" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Shamrock V36.58m (120'0&quot;)Camper & Nicholsons Shipyard1930">Shamrock V</a>’s original materials could be salvaged. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/311966/image/large-995fa295c3b2b48488ebef84084f01f3.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/311966">In the seven years that followed, the vessel, which received a new owner in 2022, was stripped down completely, and restored by skilful shipwrights, engineers and project teams.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/311967/image/large-9d338b39bb4887449e56f151db47b1e2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/311967">The impressive, historic restoration saw more than 95 percent of her original teak that was installed during a re-planking in 1970 has been removed and refitted, and 70 percent of the mechanical systems onboard were reconditioned.
