The Austrian shipyard Silent Yachts has upgraded the design of their flagship Silent 80. Designer Marco Casali Too Design has raised the cockpit and saloon floor and the roof by 35cm to recreate the standard designs for the classic Silent 80 and Silent 80 Tri-Deck yachts. Plus, the designer and shipyard have upgraded the design further to introduce the ‘Loft version’ catamaran.Photo: Silent YachtsWith an overall length of 23.95 metres, similar to the six hulls of the classic Silent 80 currently in build, the ‘Loft version’ also features spacious interiors and large storage spaces for water toys under the deck, which are accessible from the top and from the stern.Photo: Silent YachtsPhoto: Silent Yachts“We analysed our conversations with clients and how the market tends to develop,” said Michael Köhler, the Founder and CEO of Silent Yachts.“We believe that people are looking for more and more adventure in yachting. New versions of the Silent 80 will enable owners to take an amazing number of toys and provide them great extra features like larger windows, flush main deck, new layouts of the main salon and much more.”Photo: Silent YachtsThe main deck is on one level and offers spacious walkways with the headroom reaching 217cm. The saloon can be equipped with electric sliding windows and full-height folding side doors on both sides of the saloon.Photo: Silent YachtsPhoto: Silent Yachts“You can have loose furniture throughout the whole saloon and walk in the full length and width 9 x 7 meters without any restriction or steps until the windows,” said Köhler. “You can bring your own sofa, loose chairs around the table of your choice.”Photo: Silent YachtsPhoto: Silent Yachts“By cancelling the side sofa and the storage boxes between side walkway and the superstructure, we can get almost full height glass windows between the salon and the side walkway that will give you a real loft-feeling,” added Köhler.“This feature can be combined with a glass insert in the sidewall of the hull to give an unobstructed view of the sea even with the full height doors.”Photo: Silent YachtsPhoto: Silent YachtsThe ‘Loft version’ of the Silent 80 is expected to accommodate up to eight guests in four cabins taken care of by a crew of two and reach a top speed of up to 12 knots. The Silent Yachts range now includes the Silent 55, Silent 60, Silent 80 and Silent 80 tri-deck.
