A new 51-metre fast-displacement yacht concept, Sinderella, has been released from the drawing boards of DFD Design and Cantu Design. The sub-500 GT concept is decorated with exterior reflective glass that helps to create the dynamic pattern across the yacht.“I wanted to create something that combines the best of American and European design philosophies,” explains John Cantu, who founded his studio in 2015.Taking an environmental focus, the designers aimed to make their concept adaptable to future technologies and available with a hybrid propulsion package for two hours of electric power and zero emissions.Inside, up to 10 guests could be accommodated across five en-suite rooms with a full-beam master’s suite on the upper deck and four guest cabins on the lower deck. A “Solemare” room at the bottom of the yacht design offers unique views of marine life below the waterline as well as a spot to relax at the end of the day. The concept’s skylounge has dining and lounging capacities, and an area for alfredo dining to its aft.As well as a stylish plum bow, Sinderella’s exterior is decorated with reflective glass that helps to create the dynamic pattern across the yacht. She hosts a range of notable features such as her sundeck with a touch-and-go helipad, Jacuzzi and a glass overhang that doubles as an adaptable awning for the decks below. Additionally, a large beach club with fold-down sections and direct access to the “Solemare” room and storage for all water toys adjacent.“This is the sort of look I think we should be producing in America. Sinderella has a sexy side to it but is also tough in its appearance and it piques your interest — it is the grand and magical ball that is still there when you wake up the next morning.” - John Cantu, founder of Cantu Design.
