Singapore Yacht Show 2014 selling out fast

With four months to go until opening day of the Singapore Yacht Show (SYS) next April, the whole of the on-water display area that was used for this year's show is nearly sold out.

The extra berths generously allocated by the show's host, ONE°15 Marina Club, enabling the event to grow by another 50% next year, are also quickly filling up. Event director Phil Blake commented: “The rapid take-up of berths is a significant measure of the confidence that the regional and international yachting industries have in the show. Namely, that SYS is an integral and important part of their global strategies”.

On terra firma, the air-conditioned marina-facing pavilions have been considerably expanded for next year’s edition to accommodate the burgeoning interest in the show. Encompassing dedicated sections for luxury goods, property, and marine accessories as well as luxury boat and superyacht companies, these exhibition halls offer unique opportunities to reach directly an enviable target market.

The growing reputation for the high quality of visitors to the Singapore Yacht Show has attracted many new exhibitors, ranging from those in the luxury boat market through to leaders of the large yacht industry. Buyers attending the show will be truly spoilt for choice by the variety of vessels on display.

Making their Asian and SYS debut, an icon of superyachts, Alloy Yachts, has confirmed participation at SYS 2014. The New Zealand-based company, a member of the Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss), is globally recognised for building multiple-award winning yachts, several of which are currently cruising Asian waters.

Other loyal superyacht industry exhibitors returning once again include SYBAss member Heesen; leading international brokers Burgess and Northrop & Johnson; famous British brands Princess and Sunseeker; Middle East market leaders Gulf Craft; and the ultra-sleek Wider Yachts, represented by Pen Marine from Malaysia.

Making repeat appearances with increased on-water displays, well-known local industry dealers Simpson Marine, Luxury Yachts, SG Boating and Hong Seh Marine are all preparing for even more impressive line-ups than they had this year. Also confirmed are internationally recognised yachting brands Grand Banks, Hanse Yachts, and Jeanneau, who return with new models for 2014.

Making their first SYS appearances are Axis Group Yacht Design, Exclusive Yachts and the well-regarded American game boat brands Hatteras and Cabo, while the timeless Italian style of Monte Carlo Yachts will be on display at the heart of the show.

Aside from the marine elements, the 2014 Singapore Yacht Show will also encompass a classic car and modern supercar show, as well as a Concours d'Elegance for Asia.

Classic cars are currently the world's number one alternative investment sector, with new record-breaking prices constantly hitting global headlines. The organiser's intention is to create a collector's platform for Asia to sit alongside the world-famous events in Pebble Beach in the USA and Villa d'Este in Europe.

And as everyone in the yachting industry knows, special motor cars complement the luxury marine lifestyle like no other passion product; the combined event will provide a rich diversity of interest areas to attract more and more UHNWIs from around the region to the show.

Having recently announced the acquisition of Dockwise Yacht Transport / DYT, Sevenstar Yacht Transport will also gain its fleet of float-on/float-off vessels. This acquisition will allow the transport company to further serve the region, for yachts traveling to and from the cruising waters of South East Asia.
