Continuing on from <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/first-look-inside-sanlorenzo-highly-anticipated-sl102-asymmetric-superyacht" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">the SL102 asymmetrical yacht concept released last year</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/374" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="SanLorenzo (Company)">Sanlorenzo</a> has created the new 29.1-metre SL96. Due to debut at Boot Düsseldorf 2020, the new design features the work of exterior designer <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/105" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Zuccon International Project (Company)">Zuccon International Project</a> and interior designer <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/88" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Laura Sessa Romboli (Company)">Laura Sessa</a>. The asymmetrical design aims to create new life scenarios with a better connection to the outdoors. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/81841/image/large-916780ddf83c2e6c42b4b15e6a1fb4bd.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/81841">For up to eight guests in four staterooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, the lower-deck is devised of two guest cabins and the VIP suite, whereas the master suite is located between two levels with the bathroom and sleeping area on the main-deck and the dressing room lower down.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/81840/image/large-e4a63bc85a08038921765548f489370a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/81840">The asymmetrical configuration of the SL96 retains only the side decks on the starboard side, giving an additional 10-square-metres of interior space. The design utilises handrails as a means of enclosing the sunbathing area on the roof of the superstructure at the bow of the Raised Pilot House.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/81843/image/large-63c9a3f55955ce9ee5ec530d417667b0.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/81843">“Each project is brought to life by the sharing of an idea that is a synthesis between the sensitivity of the designer and the wishes of the client. In this case, the input was clear, to continue the design process started with the SL102Asymmetric, with the aim being to retain the styles and symbology that characterised the first product, reworking them and shaping them to give this new model its own identity. The first is a semi-open space of 320 square-meters on the main deck, with opening terraces, extendable to 400 square-meters, and with a gym and beach club aft. Produced by UK-based Insensys, the system is based on three rotating carbon fibre masts capable of deploying up to 2,396 square-metres of sail.
