Solar1 Monte Carlo Cup making waves

With huge media coverage ranging from Eurosport to the Wall Street Journal, the Solar1 Monte Carlo Cup will be held from 10th to 12th July 2014 and is truly making waves.

29 teams of 8 will be participating from 11 different countries around the world. With such a successful level of interest in the inaugural event, Solar1 are already planning further events to take place in Dubai, Canada, Asia and the US.

The Solar1 Monte Carlo Cup has been established to promote solar power technologies, innovation and sustainable energy alternatives to keep our oceans and environment clean and well as creating an exhilarating event for everyone. The Cup provides teams from all over the world with the opportunity to compete and showcase their design, technological and sporting strengths in a world-class international solar-powered boat racing event.

Solar1 will be running a competition for the best solar boat design, as well as hosting a spectacular conference with speakers from various industries. Several solar exhibitors will also attend, displaying new and exciting products for all to view in the specially created solar village, ensuring a wide range of activities and displays over the course of the Cup.

The event is free and open to the public, and will be hosted by the world famous Yacht Club de Monaco. The race will be taking place for the first time in conjunction with the launch of the new Yacht Club on Quai Louis II.
