SP-High Modulus introduces new product range at Auckland International Boat Show

SP-High Modulus, the marine business of Gurit, will be exhibiting at the forthcoming Auckland International Boat Show, taking place on the 11th-14th March at the Viaduct Harbour, Auckland, New Zealand. This will be the first time the newly created business exhibits within the Australasian market, following Gurit’s acquisition of the Auckland-headquartered company High Modulus in December 2009.

Exhibiting at the show from stand number 311 in Pavilion 3, SP-High Modulus – which supplies the superyacht market, high-performance custom, production and workboat sectors – will introduce its comprehensive range of marine composite products. This now includes the B3 SmartPac solution, which comprises optimised structural design with pre-cut reinforcements and core materials, designed to reduce complexity and cost in production boatbuilding. The SP-High Modulus team will also be demonstrating its engineering expertise.

Other products to be showcased are the new marine Corecell™ M-Foam, which is the only foam core to offer high shear strength, low weight and high elongation, low resin uptake for infusion processes and high-temperature stability for prepreg processes in one cost-effective offering. The high-performance marine adhesive Spabond 540 will also be promoted as an ideal product for bonding large polyester and epoxy GRP structures. With its extended working times, exceptional toughness and high strength, it has been designed to bond stringers/bulkheads, frames and hull-to-deck joints on medium to large production boats.

Graham Harvey, General Manager Marine at Gurit, says: “Under the new brand name of SP-High Modulus we are a world leader in the marine composites market and we relish the opportunity to showcase our extensive product range and our composites engineering expertise at the Auckland Boat Show.”
