Spirit partners with Rhoades Young on new 34m superyacht

Spirit Yachts and Rhoades Young have recently revealed the designs for a new 34.25 metre superyacht in an exclusive collaboration. Named Spirit Royale, the General Arrangement plan of wooden built vessel is presented here in watercolour designs.

She accommodates up to 10 guests on board over a five cabin layout, including a spacious owner’s suite located on the main deck which boasts a 200° panoramic view with double doors opening out onto a private foredeck. Guest accommodation is found on the lower deck, and consists of two twin and two double cabins, all of which are en-suite.

One of her most notable characteristics is an impressive full height staircase under an octagonal glass atrium which provides access to the main saloon, lower saloon, wheelhouse and guest cabins. The spacious saloon offers impressive entertaining space with the option for furniture to be specified by the owner.

Downstairs, the lower saloon has additional seating and a drinks bar with surrounding stools. Also in this area is a ‘fold-out’ hull section, which merges the interior and exterior of the yacht. The opening hull creates a large open outdoor swimming and sunbathing platform complete with swim showers and provision for tenders to come alongside and drop off guests.

Elsewhere outside, the aft area on the main deck has been designed for socialisation and relaxation, with a dining area for ten as well as additional seating and sunbeds. Aft on the upper deck an 8.5 metre Classic ‘Slipper’ style harbour launch and a 4 metre ‘Whitehall’ style sailing dinghy can be launched directly into the water by crane. An additional 3.6 metre Williams jet drive RIB is housed under the foredeck, also with crane launch direct to the water.

In regards to her performance, she will be powered by either 2 x 575hp Caterpillar C9 Acert engines, or 2 x 580hp Yanmar 6HYM engines, which will provide her with a maximum speed of 13.5 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots.

CEO and Head Designer of Spirit Yachts, Sean McMillan, comments on the collaboration and design, stating, “We are delighted to be working with the extremely talented and professional team at Rhoades Young in Spirit Yachts’ first partnership with an external design agency. Maximising on our combined expertise, we have created an aesthetically beautiful wooden motor yacht, which is both generous and practical in its design and layout.”

Spirit Royale was developed following considerable interest from a yacht broker in the Mediterranean, the companies report.
