Stephen Huish Yacht Design unveils interior for superyacht Lady Jane

Design

New UK based design company Stephen Huish Yacht Design launches their latest design project at Sanlorenzo in Italy, the SD92 Lady Jane. Stephen Huish is the first UK based designer to complete a project at this famous old ship yard based in Viareggio.

With a wonderfully relaxed contemporary look, the yacht features two forward twin Guest cabins, a large aft full beam VIP cabin and a forward owner’s cabin. The VIP Cabin features a new approach to shoji screens which act as a privacy in front of the port holes, with a leather sofa on the portside and desk/dressing table starboard. With a large double bed, the bed head and TV surround are clad with a faux crocodile skin with feature light boxes above the night stands. All the Guest bathrooms are constructed in light marble with a custom solid marble basin.

The Guest lobby has an open staircase with marble treads and features a curved ceiling which disappears into the soft panels and has a wrapped leather handrail with polished stainless steel end caps. The Guest doors have an unusual feature of slots of thick glass leading into the twin cabins which have a large forward wall of an array of padded random panels (acting as the headboard) which have different textures. Each twin cabin can be made up to be doubles.

The saloon was specifically designed for the owner’s artwork and photographs. Ottomans fit under the low table to help maximize the saloon when entertaining. All the ceilings panels (throughout) are of suede panels to absorb noise and give a soft feel, with fiber optics over the dining table. Particular attention was given to flexible lighting, with small recessed led lighting on the floor and above cabinets.

The owner’s bathroom features an amazing basin - 800mm wide and carved out of solid marble with a rugged outer area which is complemented by led lighting underneath, with a smooth inside. The basin replaces two small basins to allow for more space within the owners bathroom, and has flat sides to allow the owners to still place Items. The floating mirror cabinet above has plenty of storage capability (behind) with lighting illuminating a rugged marble surround. The basins and the interior was superbly constructed by the in house team at Sanlorenzo which has a wonderful contemporary look achieved on a semi custom budget.

Stephen Huish says, “Every effort was made to maximise natural light and storage within this yacht, which is truly a gem within the semi custom market”.
