Today I sat down with Sanne Chong, of Luxury Yachts, who represent some of the most reputable shipyards and offer some of the most prestigious brand names from around the world including Italy, U.S.A. and Taiwan. Luxury Yachts Pte Ltd a member of the Lotus group of companies, was established in Singapore since 1984 to provide full sales and service of pleasure craft for the Singapore and South East Asia market.
"The show has been great. In terms of traffic, despite of the warm weather, we have had a lot of people here", Sanne Chong explains.
"Of course the big question is whether or not they will buy. We need to let the dust settle first, but we have a good feeling about it. A lot of the people we have had on the yachts here at the show, are mostly people we already know, and those clients we have seen at the show, are mainly from Singapore, as well as Indonesia, which will become an important market in the near future".
"The culture here is somewhat different from, let's say, Hong Kong, which has more of a boating culture. It makes the sales cycle quite long, however, the interest is there, which is one of the reasons we are a strong supporter of the show".
"The biggest boat we have here at the show is a Sanlorenzo, Dester. It's an interesting yacht to have at the show. The brand, Sanlorenzo, is very strong, and has a solid reputation, so it is great to have this particular superyacht on display this year".
