With a 12% increase in exhibitors and 180 yachts on display the 2009 edition of the Adriatic Boat Show (ABS) drew to a successful close on 21st September. Organised by the Nautical Center Prgin, the show was held in the Mandalina Marina in Sibenik from 17th to 21st September .
Besides 150 boats in the water and 30 on the docks, the show also offered its visitors various nautical equipment, outboard and inboard engines, sport and fishing equipment as well as clothing and diving equipment. Next to the Croatian boat builders, there were yacht builders from all over the world represtented, with names like Fairline, Princess, Sunseeker, Elan, Grand Soleil, Beneteau, Jeanneau and X-Yachts.
Boat show participants expressed sincere compliments for this year's event, because of the number and diversity of exposed vessels and equipment, appearance of overall exhibition area and emphasising the organisers friendly attitude towards exhibitors, journalists and visitors.
Through the congress programme of ABS, Croatian boat builders have sent a clear message to the Croatian government asking for an immediate reduction of the extra taxation for vessels up to 7 metres in length, as well as more regulations in the superyacht sector.
Like last year, the Adriatic Boat Show took place under the auspices of the Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Tourism, whose representatives attended the opening ceremony, and with the support of the City and Sibenik - Knin County.
