Sunseeker International honoured by Queen´s Award

Sunseeker’s flag will be flying high following the announcement today that the company has been honoured with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the UK’s most prestigious awards for business performance.

Presented in recognition of substantial growth in overseas earnings and commercial success, the Queen’s Award is an independent and prominent endorsement of the company’s sustained achievement in international trade to levels that are considered outstanding for the size of Sunseeker’s operation.

Commenting on the Queen’s Award, Robert Braithwaite MBE stated: ‘The company has achieved tremendous growth in recent years and the Queen’s Award acknowledges our continued success in building the business further, and sustaining Sunseeker’s position as one of the world’s finest builders of luxury motoryachts’.

Winning the Queen’s Award for the fifth time, Sunseeker increased its exports by over £50 million in three years from 2003 to 2006. Practically all of the company’s production is exported and it now sells to over 40 countries worldwide. Main markets are in Europe, the Far East, the USA and Australia. In the three years 2003 to 2006, its exports have totaled over £510 million and the company has created 291 additional jobs.

A global leader in the design and build of luxury motoryachts, Sunseeker International exports 99% of its product range and employs 1,950 highly trained staff in their shipyards on Britain’s South Coast. With a range of 21 models from 35 feet to 37 metres, Sunseeker International is widely recognised as the pre-eminent marine brand in the world today.
