Here, we take a look on board the 86-metre super sailing yacht Aquijo. Built jointly by Oceanco and Vitters Shipyard in 2016, Aquijo is the largest high-performance, ketch-rigged sailing yacht built to date and the sixth largest sailing yacht in the world. 
Photo: Stuart PearceWith over 5,000 square-metres of sails, an imposing 88.4-metre mainmast and an impressive interior volume of 1,538 GT, the yacht features naval architecture as well as exterior design from the drawing boards of Tripp Design Naval Architects. Her interior is styled by Dölker + Voges GmbH and focuses on creating a seamless flow between her interior and exterior surroundings with the use of vast windows offering panoramic views.
The sailing yacht can accommodate up-to 16 guests across seven spacious cabins, including a bridge-deck master suite with his-and-hers bathrooms, a lounge area and direct access to a private terrace with a dining table. Her remaining guest cabins can be found on her lower deck including two VIPs, two doubles and a twin. On her main deck, the library can be converted into an additional en suite double cabin.

One of Aquijo’s most notable features is her impressive beach club, a unique space rarely found on sailing yachts, which includes a spa area with a steam room, a sauna, a lounge area and a Jacuzzi with views over the water. This area extends out to her large swim platform, offering guests direct access to the sea. Aquijo also boasts a vast aft deck with a selection of seating areas, al fresco dining for up-to 24 guests, an outdoor grill setup, and a bar. Aquijo features a second Jacuzzi on her sun deck as well as sunbathing beds and an additional bar and al fresco dining space.

Performance-wise, aside from her two massive main sails, Aquijo is powered by twin Caterpillar 3512C diesel engines, and is a true ocean-going super sailing yacht.
