Diana Yacht Design has released a new design concept, the 47-metre superyacht Diana R.50, in celebration of the naval architecture and engineering studio’s 50th anniversary.Photo: Diana Yacht Design The concept has been designed to maximise design possibilities of a sub-500 GT superyacht: “The goal was to create a yacht that feels huge and is full of superyacht features - all while remaining under that crucial 500 GT mark,” says Hans-maarten Bais, the Creative Director of the concept.Photo: Diana Yacht Design While measuring up at under 500 GT, the superyacht will be able to accommodate ample toy storage, a helipad, a sun-deck Jacuzzi, and full entertainment area.Photo: Diana Yacht Design Diana R.50’s exterior will be characterised by bold -lines and decorated in a two-tone colour scheme of chevy white and gunmetal grey.
Indoors, her layout has been designed to maximise living spaces with the ability to accommodate up to 12 guests across six staterooms, including five lower deck en-suite cabins and a full-beam owner’s stateroom located on the main deck. Guests can relax indoors in lounge areas such as in the sky lounge, outfitted with floor-to-ceiling windows.Photo: Diana Yacht Design In addition to her interior layout, her exterior spaces also provide guests with the opportunity to enjoy her surroundings. The sun deck of the Diana R.50 features a large bar, shaded dining area and sun loungers. The sun deck is also home to the yacht’s EC135 helicopter. Her lower deck beach area, where guests can relax waterside is equipped with a fold-away transom door on the swim platform and an array of toys on board.Photo: Diana Yacht Design Photo: Diana Yacht Design According to Bais, the Diana R.50 concept was born from discussions with a client, but ultimately did not go ahead. The release of this design concept is part of Diana Yacht Design’s celebration of its 50th anniversary, with plans to release other superyacht design concepts later this year.Photo: Diana Yacht Design
