80m Columbus flagship superyacht Dragon launched in Ancona

The new 80-metre Columbus Classic superyacht Dragon was launched today during a special ceremony at the Palumbo Superyachts facility in Ancona, Italy attended by shipyard staff, project team members and international press. With the vessel expected to be delivered this year, the shipyard has teamed up with Hydro Tec for her exterior design and Francesco Guida Design for her interiors.Dragon yacht by Columbus Yachts launch in AnconaPhoto: Palumbo SuperyachtsDragon yacht by Columbus Yachts launch in AnconaPhoto: Palumbo Superyachts

As the shipyard’s longest and largest vessel ever at nearly 2,300 GT, Dragon comes with unique features never seen before on a yacht built by Columbus Yachts. Her 8-metre swimming pool on the sundeck with counter-current function provides a stylish alternative to a dip in the ocean. A 200-square-metre beach club at water level is also on offer while guests can relax in the wellness and spa area on the upper deck. Dragon yacht by Columbus Yachts launch in AnconaPhoto: Palumbo SuperyachtsDragon yacht by Columbus Yachts launch in AnconaPhoto: Palumbo Superyachts

The interior, designed by Francesca Guida Design, is spread across six decks. The five guests suites are located along the main deck while the owner is treated to a dedicated private owner’s deck and a forward-facing master suite. Dragon yacht by Columbus Yachts launch in AnconaPhoto: Palumbo SuperyachtsDragon yacht by Columbus Yachts launch in AnconaPhoto: Palumbo Superyachts

Following the completion of her outfitting and sea trial phases, Dragon will finally depart the shipyard this summer and is expected to make her world debut at the 2019 Monaco Yacht Show
