It is no surprise to the SuperYachtTimes.com team that Mary-Jean II won her category at this year's World Superyacht Awards 2011, for 'Best Displacement Motor Yacht of 500GT to 1,299GT' . After all, Chief Editor, Maarten Jansen, dined on the exquisite superyacht at the MYBA Charter Show in Genoa last week, and has not stopped mentioning how superb she is ever since. He spoke of how every aspect of this vessel boats the perfect comprehensive “superyacht experience”.
From the luxurious design both inside and out, that creates a delightful comforting atmosphere, to the extremely friendly professional staff members that are capable of serving guests some of the world’s most delicious meals, is is without a doubt that Mary-Jean II is clearly a winner.
Delightedly, YPI's Head of Charter Fiona Maureso stated "She was in one of the most competitive categories of the whole evening, up against the likes of Addiction, Bel Abri, Solemates and the ISA 63 metre. Winning the 'Best Displacement Motor Yacht of 500GT to 1,299GT' category is testament to her design, build and quality”.
Launched in May last year, the 61.70 metre Mary-Jean II was built by International Shipyard Ancona (ISA), also responsible for the naval architecture and engineering of the yacht. Accommodating up to 12 guests in 7 cabins and working with a crew of 15, Mary-Jean II makes excellent use of the very latest technology and design to create a light-filled and spacious yacht that manoeuvres exceptionally well and delivers on all levels in terms of comfort, interior and on-deck entertainment, toys and tenders, and overall efficiency.
"The owners of Mary-Jean II thoroughly enjoyed being on board during her first ever Caribbean season," adds her YPI Charter Manager Jacqueline Leigh. "Now we look forward to welcoming charter guests on board for her first Mediterranean season. She is a beautiful, fun yacht to be on. She deserves her World Superyacht Award and I'm sure this will not be her last accolade."
Accepting the award on behalf of the owners was Will Bishop (YPI Sales & New Construction) and Marcello Maggi - ISA Sales & Marketing Director.
Mary-Jean II was built by ISA with interior design by Mark Berryman. She was project managed by YPI Management and is now managed for charter by YPI Charter.
