Superyacht of the week: Baglietto's 46 metre superyacht

The first of the new displacement product range from Italian shipyard, Baglietto, is a 46 metre, still to be named, superyacht. The first vessel in the range is characterised by straight, soft and gentle lines which are partially interrupted by slightly squared ones, generous volumes and building firmness. The range is designed by the renowned designers, Francesco Paszkowski Design. The team at Francesco Paszkowski conceived the exterior lines in addition to the interior designs, with the interiors undertaken in collaboration with Margherita Casprini. The technical department of the Baglietto shipyard are responsible for the naval architecture.

The shipyard state that inspiration for the new motor yacht came from, “A combination of pure minimalism and nature.” The minimalist and natural elements can be easily realised in the combination of warm nuances and materials, such as natural unpolished wood or leather intertwined with colder details such as the polished and lacquered partitions. Essences and perfumes have been specifically conceived by the Florentine company, Dr. Vranjes, to further underline the same natural theme throughout the yacht with an olfactory path.

The unusual concept of creating a truly sense based experience on board continues in other features of the vessel, including the creation of a unique touching sense thanks to a special treatment applied onto all main coverings in oak tree. The treatment ensures that all pieces of furniture give guests a peculiar, yet pleasant, touching sensation and feeling. Real sensations are also found in the dark wooden floor, resembling the woods that come ashore in the cold season and further evoking the contact with nature.

In regards to the layout of her interiors, the aftpeak and the sofas inserted into the structure welcome the guest on the main deck even before reaching the open entrance into the main saloon. This space has been conceived entirely as a space for relaxation and enjoying the company of family and friends on board. In the main saloon, Minotti comfortable sofas and seatings characterise the area, and is completed by a practical coffee bar.

The large volume of the main saloon is enhanced by means of glasses and mirrors placed on the ceilings and partitions. This works to amplify the light and space on board, contributing to an increased feeling of spaciousness and light. An extra-light glass partition separates the main saloon from the main lobby giving the perception of an overall wide area.

On the right side of the main saloon, direct access to the beach area can be seen. The 25 square metre terrace upon the sea incorporates a small gym area, which includes facilities such as two Recline Personal with Unity interfacing, a wellness ball and wellness rack, all supplied by the Italian company Technogym. Proceeding along the main deck is an entrance lobby to the VIP area. Here a comfortable winding staircase in steel and leather connects all three decks.

In terms of accommodation, Baglietto’s new motor yacht sleeps her guests over several cabins, including the luxurious owner’s area. The full beam cabin comes with a vanity area and a wide bathroom with a central bath-tub and separated shower, luxuriously decorated in travertine marble. All pieces of furniture, bedhead and bedside tables are custom-made, and are designed as free-standing furniture.

The guest accommodation is located on the lower deck, and is characterised by a classical layout with two VIP cabins each with two beds, with the possibility of adding an extra bed if necessary. At the center, along the hall, a coffee-bar table offers a practical support to host the guests’ cabins. The areas show a soft and comfortable design exploiting the warm nuance of leather offering the “sewn by hand” effect and the natural wood interrupted by a dark-grey partition mostly combined with aluminum intersections. The dark blue, orange and ochre touches of the bedheads and beds give an atmosphere of refined elegance.

At the bow of the same deck the crew area can be found, complete with a crew mess and four cabins completed by a separated corridor at the left which allows the private passage of the crew on to the technical areas of the yacht, to the galley and to the pantry without interfering into the guests’ on-board life. The galley is located at the main deck, and is spacious and well lit thanks to a wide window facing the external corridor. An annexed dry storage is available with refrigerating cells and cellar to be used during long cruises.
