She has been one of the most eagerly awaited launches of the year, a new-build project managed by YPI Management, built by ISA in Ancona, Italy and successfully delivered to her owner this summer. Mary-Jean II made her international debut at this year's Monaco Yacht Show, where she was one of the highlights of the show.
Launched in May of this year, the 61.73-metre Mary-Jean II was built by International Shipyard Ancona (ISA) which was also responsible for the design, naval architecture and engineering of the yacht.
With her striking blue hull, this 60-metre new-build utilizes the very latest technology, design and Italian craftsmanship with an interior design by Mark Berryman. The interiors are designed in a fresh and very well thought-out contemporary style which is carried throughout the whole yacht and gives the yacht a youthful feel.
The youthful and airy impression is best seen in the large, slightly curved, open-plan main salon and dining room.
In addition to the choice of an open-plan arrangement instead of two separate rooms, large windows also contribute to a particular voluminous feel. Although very much a family yacht, her future role in the charter market was considered very carefully in all aspects of her design.
Pop and Modern Art, and the overall spacious and clean feel of her interior makes good use of light grained satin finished woods such as teak, wengé and bamboo.
The owners stateroom forward on the main deck is entered through a long corridor. The stateroom itself features an open plan study area, a large walk-in mirror lined wardrope on portside, and a large luxurious bathroom on starboard side. The bathroom offers a bathtub and a very generous shower and an equally generous space for the head and bidet.
Mary-Jean II accommodates up to 10 additional guests in 6 cabins. There is a large VIP cabin on the bridge deck, and a large double cabin on the main deck, aft of the owner's stateroom.
On the lower deck there are four additional large guest cabins, two doubles and two twin cabins, of which one converts into a third double. All cabins have flat screen TV's, iPod docks and full entertainment via the Kaleidoscope system.
“Mary-Jean II has an abundance of space both inside and out,” says Jacqueline Leigh, her YPI Charter Marketing Broker. “She has an amazing Sun and Aft deck with plenty of lounge and dining space – not to mention a capacious Jacuzzi that overlooks the whole yacht.”
For more entertainment, an already impressive sky-lounge also includes a vast cinema screen where charterers can watch a selection of over 2,500 movies with AMX remote control unit in hand to dim the lights, close the blinds and alter the volume without even having to move.
The aft deck outside offers two comfortable seating areas as well as a dining area that seats 14 guests with ease.
When it comes to toys Mary-Jean II is equally well equipped with the first two full-option 23’ Chase tenders to be built by Novurania complete with custom upholstery, foam collars for easy docking and added safety, and paintwork to match the style and colour of Mary-Jean II herself. Two clear-bottom kayaks, two Jet-Skis, snorkeling equipment, water skis and wake boards complete the fun fold as does a dedicated gym for those wishing to stay in shape.
Mary-Jean II is available through YPI Charter this winter in the Caribbean and next summer in the Mediterranean.
