Euphoria was launched in the heat of the summer of 2016 as Turkish yacht builder, Mayra Yachts’ first completed superyacht. Headed by the Prince Group, the shipyard was cutting no corners with their flagship model that is to put them firmly on the superyacht map, and drafted designer Ken Freivokh for the design of what became known as the Prince 50 project. Named Euphoria, her curvaceous exterior is but the tip of the elaborate and trendy design that was inspired by the growing possibilities offered by the advancements in glass technology. A sensory delight awaits!
Perhaps it is the lack of straight lines visible in her exterior profile, or that grand swept arch that flows down onto the main deck, but Euphoria gives off a sense of excitement and dynamism that is so often lacking in yachts of this size. Her impressive volume just shy of 500 GT is evident in the strong and defined exterior lines picked up by her high freeboard and generous beam. No matter the viewing angle, the eye is engaged by various design elements that captivate and leaves it curious for more.
Making these curves and accentuating lines come to life in steel and aluminium is not easy and Mayra Yachts had to rely on the skills of every artist in its workforce to expertly craft and construct not only a seagoing vesselbut a floating piece of art. Over three years of hard work has paid off, and today Mayra Yachts has a new brand ambassador that will turn heads wherever she goes.
The onboard experience starts on sundeck where guests can enjoy a pre-breakfast workout in the dedicated gym space that is hidden inside the curved mast structure. The remainder of the deck is dedicated to sunbathing and afternoon dips in the forward Jacuzzi.
Main deck aft was designed to host large groups of guests and comes complete with a BBQ, full service area for the crew and dedicated bar, all set under elaborately-designed deckhead panels. The mooring stations and technical areas associated with this part of a yacht is neatly concealed beneath covers that are integrated into the bulwarks, making this a truly guest-friendly area.
Below the main deck is Euphoria’s tender garage that houses a luxurious 7.4m Pascoe guest tender – impressive for a yacht of this size. A technical space on the foredeck houses a smaller crew tender and two jet skis for double the watersports fun.
On the inside, Ken Freivokh Design experimented with a retro style that was made possible by the sheer amount of natural light throughout the interior and the use of space enhancing LED lighting without having spaces feel cramped. Strong materials such as metal and glass are paired with softer carpets and leather to create a visual and physical experience.
The main saloon converts into a family cinema through swivelling couches that turn to face the giant LCD TV.
A corridor on the starboard side leads through to the master suite and it is when one enters the master office that you first get a sense of the scale of the pieces of glass used on board. The custom-made glazed panels curve with the hull and lets in light that bounces off the lacquered surfaces that clad the suite.
Two dramatic decorative arches on either side of the master bed connect the sleeping quarters with the en suite bathroom. A central glass bath tub and two oversized basins set on top of a polished grey Empredor marble and black granite floor continue the wow effect.
The atrium on the starboard side is in line with what seems like a single piece of glazing from the outside. From main deck, this bright stairwell connects the wheelhouse above to the lower guest cabins below.
These cabins are finished in the same simplistic fashion as the interior above deck. Stainless steel inserts catch the light around the cabins and create a unique mood depending on the time of day.
The galley on main deck is certainly worth a visit. Located on the centreline of the ship, it not only increases comfort when at sea, but provides guest with a snack area on the port side with either a view to the sea outside or the option to enjoy the culinary scenes unfolding inside the galley through a large viewing window.
In terms of technical abilities, Euphoria’s naval architecture was developed by Naval Yachts. Fitted with twin CAT C32 engines, she can reach a top speed of 16 knots and offers an impressive cruising range of 4,500 nm.
