Superyacht of the Week: Ocean Alexander 112

During the recent Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Ocean Alexander made a splash with the presentation of its new 112 Megayacht model. The American yachting brand has been powering on behind the scenes with new-generation developments in its superyacht line up on offer. The hard work has paid off and Ocean Alexander was able to unveil its two latest models off at FLIBS this year. SYT stepped onboard to see what is on offer.

With the 112, Ocean Alexander aimed to set new standards in the way guests get to use the spaces onboard. Designer Evan K. Marshall set the pace with a functional layout designed for daily use, suitable to every type of use that the owner might require.

The main saloon is a bright and open space divided in a luxurious lounge area and formal dining setting for 10 with a family-sized circular table at its centre. Large sliding doors to port leads out onto a generous balcony, allowing even more light to fill this space.

A luxurious skylounge offers the perfect setting for family gatherings after dinner in an informal and comfortable environment with a view.

The grand master suite is a great example of how Ocean Alexander has turned the conventional guest accommodation layout on its head. A split level suite is not very common for yachts of this size, not to mention the exceptional panoramic view from the comfort of your king-sized bed. This cabin truly is of the 112’s trump cards. A staircase leads forward and down into the en suite bathroom.

The luxury is continued below deck where guests are treated to two VIP staterooms and two twin cabins awaits, finished in the same high quality of paneling and masonry as found throughout the entire yacht.

Guests will appreciate the wide range of amenities fitted onto the bridge deck aft are and is certainly to become a favourite spot for entertaining larger groups of family and friends. Low profile deck furniture and side bulwarks means one can enjoy the surrounding views from just about any corner on this deck. A bimini is easily erected to cover the aft section of this deck in shade for those blistering Bahama days.

The wheelhouse, which takes up a commanding view from two levels above the waterline, is finished in the same style as all other guest areas, making this a perfect hangout area for the adventurous of guests interested in learning a few nautical terms while cruising to the next anchorage.
