Last November, acclaimed Italian shipyard Perini Navi delivered the grand Seahawk, the first vessel within their new generation of superyachts. With SuperYachtTimes.com's Merijn de Waard having sailed onboard during last year's edition of the Perini Navi cup, we have been shown an impressive and intriguing first look at Seahawk's impressive performance capabilities, her elegant physique and her wonderful, exquisite design.
As the first launch of a new generation of Perini Navi superyachts, Seahawk seems like the natural next step in the evolution of the yard's sailing yachts. At 60 metres, she boasts some impressive specifications with regards to performance, while combining great comfort with a lush sense of modern style and state of the art technology. Ample examples of technological and architectural innovations are present, while her designs take on a new approach to life onboard a sailing yacht, adding something extra to her overall experience.
What's instantly striking, is her exceptionally spacious ambiance, both with regards to exterior deck areas and interior spaces. Decks, cockpits, saloon and guests quarters, all benefitting from the impressive maximum beam of 11.4 metres, offer a wonderfully grand, open and airy atmosphere that truly enhances the experience onboard Seahawk. With her hull and superstructure in aluminium, she remains light yet strong while, with regards to technological innovations, there are plenty to be discovered. For instance, her newly designed captive reel winches, which are of a new generation altogether, created by Perini Navi's Mast Department, to assure stronger reeling power and faster manoeuvring. Managed from a dedicated sensor, top performance during any weather condition is guaranteed, optimally regulating reeling speed. Other innovative features include new flush deck furlers, sail plan hardware, mast structure and the interior layout.
Her slender hull, designed by Perini Navi in collaboration with Ron Holland, is a picture perfect example of sleek and well-proportioned elegance, not just making her perfectly spacious, but also greatly adding to her comfort, stability and manoeuvrability. Seahawk boasts an exterior look of strength and elegance, with her gentle lines, slim silhouette and a sportive superstructure in silver. Combined with a black hull, enigmatic silver sails and a dramatic, fiery red spinnaker, she is an impressive appearance, from up close and afar.
Upon boarding, what becomes instantly apparent is the abundant size of Seahawk's exterior living spaces. Her fore and aft cockpits are impressively spacious and open, allowing guests to perfectly enjoy their sailing experience maximally. The fore cockpit boasts a large U-shaped layout with big sofas, all framed by dramatic vistas. Overall, the foredeck, which also locates two 21 foot tenders flush to the deck, has an airy and wide sea terrace perfectly suitable for outdoor living. Aft, an impressively large cockpit is perfectly secluded yet open and surrounded by dramatic vista views. Large, inviting sofas and several lounging areas offer guests an ideal setting for a superb sailing experience. Aft, the transom opens up and transforms into a swimming platform, with a second platform available port side, in the form of a side shell door at the lazarette. Like her foredeck, Seahawk's aft deck is impressively spacious and particularly open, perfect for an perfect experience of airy and refreshing life at sea.
Seahawk's interior were designed by Christian Liaigre, combining modern finesse and marine elegance in a rich, warm and subtly glamorous ambiance.
The open plan saloon, separated from the cockpit by a large glass walls which allows ample amounts of natural light to flow in, is divided into three main spaces, consisting of lounge, dining and office areas. The main lounge aft is warm and cozy, yet cool and contemporary, setting a grand yet intimate tone for guests to enjoy. The design itself consists of dark, warm and natural tones, rich yet subtle luxury materials and some big modern sofas as key ingredients. Surrounded by large windows, natural light flows inside while the saloon is framed with dramatic vista views all around.
Located port and starboard side of the central staircase are the main dining room and office respectively. Each area is flawlessly designed in a style of modern elegance and warm finesse, an exquisitely formed ambiance of richness and hospitality.
The central staircase leads to the lower deck guest accommodations, in the form of four luxurious suites and a sumptuous master. The full beam master suite boasts an innovative solution of double beds on opposite sides in the stateroom, allowing the suite to be divided into two VIP suites during charter, totalling the number of possible suites to six.
The master suite has a particularly open and spacious atmosphere, warm and modern with several lounge, office and vanity areas. The wonderfully stylish his and hers en suites extend the stateroom's elegance of modern glamour in a well-blended palette consisting of dark high-gloss, light and masculine materials, in highly contrasting colours.
Overall, the master suite is exceptional, impressively spacious and delightfully stylish. Similar styles of masculine glamour and modern finesse are offered in the remaining guest suites, two doubles and two twins.
Each suite is equally well appointed, with large staterooms and luxury en suites offering each guest a lush, stylish and exceptional experience.
Upstairs, Seahawk's flybridge offers a wonderfully open and spacious deck space for guests to enjoy.
