Superyacht of the Week: Tansu yachts' 36.4 metre Nomade

Last may, Turkish built superyacht Nomade was launched, making her public debut at the 2011 Superyacht Rendezvous in Monaco. Being a sister ship to the 35m Ceylan, Turkish shipyard Tansu yachts has set to develop a new series of uniquely recognizable vessels, combining hypermodern looks with stylish luxury in a futuristic, almost retro way.

Upon boarding this 36m superyacht, what draws immediate attention is the emphasis that was put on Nomades broad and spacious aft deck area. A luscious and sleek outside space invites guests for sunbathing, lounging and enjoying full panorama views, intelligently double functioning partly as the main storage space for the yachts two tenders. The uniquely spacious aft exterior lounging area perfectly compliments aft deck functionality, clearly showcasing how outside living is accentuated in Nomades design concept. Two large, L-shaped divans are situated in the roofed part of the aft deck, perfect for those who seek some shade and it is particularly inviting for supremely private al-fresco dining.

Exterior space effortlessly flows to the inside areas, where one firstly can appreciate the main saloon with a particular outside feel, not in the least part because of grand windows offering extensive and dramatic views of the vessel's surroundings.

Characteristically, the design concept of Nomade emphasizes outside living and activities, which can be noted in the ratio of the main saloon compared to the outside aft deck area, which are of similar dimensions. Two large, bright red size sofas, situated opposite each other, offer ample comfort and luxury inside and reflect the setup of the aft deck seating configuration, while the intimate dining area perfectly adds to the main saloons relaxing, sleek and gorgeously styled and highly inviting interior atmosphere. A bright and well balanced color palette combined with vibrant red accents and sleek lines complimented with modern furniture result in a perfectly blended interior design which is modern yet warm and interesting, yet has a distinct home-like feel without an abundance in details, perfectly designed and skillfully executed.

The front port side of the main saloon gives access to the ships galley, while the starboard side flows into a small hallway, which in turn leads into the ships centrally placed main staircase. Passing through this hallway, the full beam master suite can be reached. These sumptuous quarters are fitted with all necessities one could hope for, ranging from ample closet space, his and hers bathrooms and one grand shower area. Large round windows are situated on the port and starboard sides of the cabin, offering distinctive views and add to the rooms typical atmosphere, while assuring complete privacy. Set in the vessel's familiar light and balanced color scheme, the atmospheric lighting scheme fittingly frames the cabins contemporary design.

Leading down the yachts main staircase, four guest cabins are found situated around the main lower deck lobby, each designed in the yachts familiar light and contemporary, balanced style. The bright, wooden floors and ceilings, pristine white walls and subtle lighting design combine into a pleasantly soothing yet vibrant atmosphere, undoubtedly adding to a wonderful experience while onboard. Beds in the four guest cabins are configured as two doubles, a total of four singles and two additional pullmans. The latter can be found in the two available two-singles cabins, turning these into triple cabins and bringing the total of possible guests to ten.

Upon wandering outside, one reaches the lusciously spacious and evenly sleek upper deck area through each of the two outside stairways, situated on either side of the main saloon. Main attraction on the upper deck is the impressively sized and inviting central sunbed, offering guests space, comfort and privacy to spend time outside in a ultimately pleasant manner. Either sunbathing or enjoying a cool breeze in the shade, courtesy of the full sized bimini shades, are just some of many possibilities. All this, complimented by a fully equipped bar area, assures guests full comfort and enjoyment on board.

As with all other spaces onboard, either inside or out, time spent on the upper deck is time spent in soothing style and supreme comfort. Leading to the front deck, additional space and sunbeds can be found, offering a full package of amenities and luxuries onboard this unique nearly futuristic vision of a superyacht.
