Superyacht of the week: The 30.65 metre Perini Navi Xnoi

Last may, acclaimed Italian shipyard Perini Navi launched their brand new, sleek sloop Xnoi (pronounced “per noi” - “for us”) at the Picchiotti shipyard in La Spezia, Italy. This smooth, contemporary superyacht, with an LOA just shy of 31 metres, shows off an elegant style with her hull, superstructure, mast and boom all made from carbon fibre. This not only turns her into a modern, sensual vessel but also showing of Perini Navi's knack for innovation in sucessfully applying this material. Perini have successfully ventured into new territory, which will undoubtedly bring many exciting and groundbreaking projects in the near future.

Xnoi was designed by Mario Pedol and Massimo Gino of Nauta Yacht, expanding the familiar range of the Perini Navi Group superyacht family. Superyachts designed by Nauta Yachts are famed for their contemporary classic appearance, that are easily recongnizable, even from a distance. Apropos, they have announced initiating plans for designing the largest superyacht ever built, a project with the working title “Project Azzam” which is currently being developed in their Milan-based studio.

With regards to charming Xnoi, naval architecture, interiors and layouts all came from the hands of Nauta's Pedol and Gino. As we have come to expect from Nauta vessels, Xnoi shows off a striking exterior look that is both eloquently modern and charmingly classic. She boasts an intelligent poise and refined lines, making her both elegant and ageless. In short, Xnoi is both a grand dame and a playful young lady, with her smart, timeless personality and a sportive, performance-driven soul.

As with her exterior lines, Xnoi's deck plan is all about clarity. Her smooth, minimalistic deck space, free of any abundant details and refreshingly clutter-free, pleasantly emphasises functionality rather than style. This is a charming trait that often sailing yacht enthusiasts in general, and Xnoi in particular. This penchant for putting function over form is adequately illustrated by a striking feature, catching the eye immediately upon boarding: her double helm station. No ornamental additions or stylistic acrobatics, simply refined elegance and top quality craftsmanship, both the result of the one thing Xnoi is all about: that comfortable, stylish and luxurious feeling of freedom that makes sailing a superyacht of this stature so enticing.

Entering through a stainless steel, sliding door, the deckhouse covers a magnificent interior main guest area. This room, flooded in natural light and executed in colour and material palettes that are clean, fresh and elegantly simple, is divided into two different areas located on two different levels. Aft, there is a refined raised saloon, with port side dining and starboard conversation and lounging areas. With the all around windows, vista views and an overall light ambiance setting the tone, this area feels delicate, light and delightfully comfortable.

Guests can simply feel her light and free personality, with an ambiance that, though luxurious and illustrating top quality craftsmanship all over, is elegantly simple.
