Set to pioneer a new era in motor yacht design and performance, the recent addition to Danish Yachts' range of cutting edge superyachts was launched at the Skagen, Denmark based shipyard and presented in Monaco to international media in May 2011. From the drawing board of the renowned design team of Espen Øino International, the vessel formerly known as 'project 116' was befittingly christened Shooting Star. With her design, execution of construction and future performance successfully aimed to showing the world a sophisticated, powerful yet environmentally friendly insight in the future of superyachts, Shooting Star is truly a vision come to life.
Being ecofriendly means setting the highest of standards and demanding a seamless cooperation and communication between every partner involved in the process. From the first sketches to the final launch, Shooting Star is exemplary for how these stringent standards can result in a vessel that is both elegant in design, extremely powerful in performance and still has a low impact on the environment.
Ecofriendliness starts at the base, and in the case of this superyacht that means an extremely lightweight, carbon fibre hull, which undoubtedly is one of the notable factors in making this vessel the fastest one in her class, at 38m being able to exceed speeds of 47 knots courtesy of two powerful jet engines. Located in Monaco, Shooting Star is the currently the only way to get from Monte Carlo to Saint Tropez in less than one hour. The team of highly specialised engineers and designers of renowned Holland based MarQuip delivered a bespoke exhaust system; a technical highpoint fit for a star among superyachts.
Added to her sleek, slender and refined exterior is a refined, Scandinavian-influenced interior by Art-Line, combining uniquely designed pieces of furniture with sleek lines and elegant materials, using a light, creamy palette of colours and resulting in an atmosphere that is as much elegant and reserved as it is uniquely characteristic. On all fronts, this vessel is exemplary of the renowned Danish Yachts high standard of finish, and an international combination of craftsmanship and technical skills have resulted in a luxurious and sportive custom showcase superyacht that is equally committed to comfort and performance as it is to respecting the environment, which started during construction and will continue throughout her future life, notably because of extensive emission controls.
Shooting Star's modern interior design has been influenced by the refined and gracious styles of Scandinavian design. Danish Yachts' homebase of Skagen has been famous for her magnificient light for centuries and this striking feature has been a major inspiration for the use of color onboard this vessel, reflecting a sense of timeless elegance. Abundance in light can also bee found in one of the yachts most impressive amenities. The main saloon was fitted with a grand sun roof, offering guests the possibility of dining under the stars or enjoying a feel of outside lounging while relishing full inside privacy. Adding to the large amounts of natural light, numerous skylights have been added throughout the vessel.
Boarding Shooting Star, one is welcomed by a luxuriously sized aft deck sunbed, offering ample space for guests to soak up the sun. Completing the aft deck are a six seat dining table, perfect for al fresco dining and relaxing, and two fixed lounging beds. Retractable bimini shades have been elegantly integrated in the yachts design, offering full comfort without obstructing the surrounding panorama views.
Entering the salon, the light interior features a considerable collection of custom made furniture pieces divided into several areas. Respectively a comfortable dining area, bar and spaceous loungin area offer more than enough possibilities, making it equally tempting to linger and relax inside as is it outside. The unique sunroof only adds to the guests comfort, effortlessly bringing the outside in with the push of a button. Added to her large variety of possibilities, a high comfort cinema room ensures ample entertainment for guests.
Shooting Star comfortably offers space for 8 to 10 guests, supplied with two double beds and two convertibles. Additionally, the cinema room lounging sofas can be tranformed into an extra berth. Combining lacquered wood, natural stone, luxurious fabrics and soft cream colored leather throughout the interior design, all cabins offer high standards in comfort, style and class for guests onboard.
All cabins have been fitted with airconditioning and offer iPod docking stations using the latest in Bang & Olufsen technology, with systems seamlessly integrated and wifi available throughout the entire yacht. Crew quarters are equally luxurious, with a superbly appointed galley, crew mess area and individual crew cabins completing the vessel's overall supreme quality.
The large tender garage holds a 3.5m Williams Jet Tender for fun and easy transportation.
Shooting Star has been appointed to YCO and is offered for sale at an asking price of € 18,500,000.
