Superyacht of the week: The 40 metre Solaris

Built in 2014 by Princess Yachts International, the 40.16 metre motor yacht Solaris is a tri-deck semi custom vessel boasting interior designs by British designer Mark Berryman, with exterior styling undertaken by Princess. She is finished spectacularly in hand-picked oak timber.

Her interiors have been significantly customised by the owners, and exudes sophistication, style and luxury. She has a six cabin layout that comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests in total, including an owner’s suite, a VIP cabin, two doubles and two twin cabins.

The VIP cabin lies across the full beam of the main deck, and boasts a seating area, a separate office and an en suite bathroom. As with all M Class yachts from Princess, tall sections of glass run along each side for the most incredible views and light.

The four guest cabins are located on the lower deck, with the double cabins aft and two twin cabins with sliding berths. All rooms come with en suite facilities with heated floors. A crew of up to eight is also accommodated for.

The dedicated owner’s domain is exclusively located on the upper deck. This deck includes the opulent owner’s stateroom, seating area, separate office and beautiful en-suite bathroom. All rooms are beautifully decorated in a sumptuous yet subtle colour scheme, and well designed as to utilise space in the best way. The area is completely inundated with natural light due to the all surrounding large sections of glass, giving the space a light, airy and welcoming feel with breathtaking views across the water.

Through the state room's stainless-steel doors, a private deck is located aft with an intimate dining area and expansive seating, perfect for either cosy al-fresco meals or lively entertainment. From here, stairs lead to the main deck below or up to the sun deck.

Elsewhere inside, the saloon seating area is spacious and welcoming. This area is designed to easily accommodate up to 12 guests, providing a fantastic area for either relaxation after a busy day enjoying the outdoors, or an elegant space to enjoy drinks and entertainment with friends. Balconies to port and starboard enhance the space to make a spectacular and spacious living area.

A separate dining area is located forward featuring a solid Macassar ebony table and finished in materials chosen from the expansive Princess Design Studio portfolio.

Solaris also comes with an expansive range of facilities and amenities on board. On the lower deck is a fully Technogym-equipped gymnasium lying forward including a running machine, Kinesis workout station and a separate en suite.

At the very top of this commanding vessel, the sundeck is fully equipped with a wet bar, twin barbecue, spa bath and lounging areas. In addition, she also has a wide range of water toys and tenders on board for guests to fully make the most of. These include 2 x 2 seat Seadoo 215hp Waverunners, 2 x F5 Seabobs, a F7 Seabob, a 6 x 4 metre Floating Pool (anti-jelly fish), water-skis, wake board, scuba diving equipment, towable toys, snorkelling equipment and several wetsuits. She also comes with a 6 metre Williams Tender Jet Drive to enjoy.

At the bow, a long deep foredeck creates a private retreat when in port. She features at anchor stabilisers which work at zero speed, increasing onboard comfort at anchor and on rough waters. Powered by 2 MTU 12V 4000 M73L diesel engines, Solaris is capable of a maximum speed of 19 knots, with a cruising speed of 16 knots.

Delivered to her owners this year, superyacht Solaris is currently available to charter with Imperial Yachts, in the West Mediterranean.
