Superyacht of the Week: The 56 metre Benetti Ulysses

SuperYacht of the Week

Upon first sight, Ulysses radiates a sense of mystique, with her dark hull and beige superstructure. This newly built 56 metre Benetti superyacht certainly has the looks of a modern noblewoman and the personality to match. And this eloquent character, combining classic style with modern luxury, is only part of what makes this superyacht such an attractive candidate for luxurious charters. With a large array of amenities, romantic interiors and high quality finishing, chartering Ulysses will be a sure hit without any doubt.

Ulysses' exterior is curvy and modern, hinting at both the classical and sportive sides of her character. It is hard to pinpoint what exactly makes this exterior look so refreshing and different, but it is an exciting blend of features for sure. As unusual as these looks may be, in the most positive sense of the word, they form a firm contrast with the interiors designs, which are of a traditional and classical nature. The interior is a blend of Romantic, Baroque and subtly Gothic-inspired influences, with a tasteful collection of floral artworks to match. With this soothing atmosphere undoubtedly appealing to guests' state of mind, Ulysses aims at soothing everybody onboard with her luxurious ambiance and calming manner. In short: she successfully aims at optimal guest comfort, with modern luxury in a classic style.

Ulysses' generous nature becomes instantly apparent upon boarding, with the main aft deck being a spacious area situated around a sumptuous U-shaped sofa with ample comfortable cushions. An ideal location for enjoying some exotic cocktails, the fine company of one's fellow guests and an appropriate introduction of the many wonderful things this superyacht has to offer.

Entering the main saloon, the magnificent Steinway piano from 1900 is an immediate eye catcher, with numerical control allowing guests to enjoy a wide variety of classical masterpieces without having to touch one key. The imperial interior is based upon lacquered mahogany, dramatic chandeliers, lush floral-patterned upholstery on the large and curvy furnishing and a subtle lighting scheme. The saloon, which consists of one extensive space with a main seating area aft and a formal dining setting fore, has a regal and sophisticated atmosphere. With two symmetrically placed arrangements of sofas, armchairs, tables and ottomans, the lounging area offers a soothing and formal ambiance. This is a perfect environment for cocktail parties and formal entertaining, with the main dining area forming a highly appropriate setup for ample stylish dinners.

The gently curved, classical dining chairs were fitted with lush upholstery and give the dining room a subtle oriental feel, adding significantly to the distinguished and elegant feel of the main saloon. Ulysses has a broad collection of table-wear and porcelain available, all equally stylish and refined, assuring a varied and surprising table setting for every occasion. And this being one of three main dining tables onboard, not only style, class and quality, but also variety is key onboard Ulysses. With the New-Zealander chef assuring high quality cuisine for all meals, Ulysses seems to hold the key for many successful charters.

Assuring a perfect charter means supplying guests with a perfectly befitting accommodation. As far as staterooms and personal amenities are concerned, Ulysses more than delivers. A collection of 6 staterooms can be found onboard, divided between her various spacious decks and able to accommodate a company of up to 12 guests.

The owner's suite, located on the fore main deck, features a large private office, a full beam bedroom, luxurious and spacious en suite bathroom with bath and steam room and a hairdressing salon. To top it all off, the owner's suite has a private observation lounge fore, offering dramatic panoramic views. Like the main saloon, the owner's suite is sumptuous in style and luxury.

From the lacquered wooden wall panelling, plush carpeting and marble bathroom floors to the subtle lighting scheme and ample amounts of space, it all blends into a delicate design scheme offering an exquisite taste of what classic luxury is all about. This sense of luxury is inherently integrated throughout all staterooms, and common guest areas, resulting in a well-balanced luxury experience.

A lush VIP suite can be found on the starboard upper deck, adjacent to the central circular staircase with elevator. One of the striking features here, is the stateroom's panoramic view of the sea. With the spacious en suite bathroom, with bath, and a large bedroom, all designed in Ulysses classic style, a stay in this VIP suite means a stay surrounded with luxury. The remaining 4 staterooms, two twins and two doubles, can be found on the lower deck. Each in true Ulysses style and fitted with an en suite bathroom, these cabins assure all guests perfect comfort and privacy while onboard, set in a spacious classic ambiance, with ample space and amenities available.

With space always being a key ingredient for a comfortable stay, Ulysses offers plenty. On the upper deck, the intimate sky lounge offers an informal variation to the main saloon area. With a bar, game table and comfortable lounging area, all spacious, luxurious and unmistakably classic in style, guests can enjoy and unwind in perfect comfort. Just a few steps away, the upper aft deck offers a wonderful al fresco dining and lounging area.

With the central dining table, fitting a company of up to 12, and two fixed U-shaped sofas available, it's quite easy to imagine this area playing a central role in guests comfort. With vista views, ample space and some good company, relaxing and forgetting one's everyday troubles becomes a breeze.

Upstairs, one of Ulysses most impressive features can be found, in the form of a oversized and perfectly equipped sun deck. With large sun loungers for all guests, the central al fresco dining table, fully equipped wetbar, spacious lounging area, exterior cinema, sauna and a collection of lavish sunpads and large Jacuzzi fore, there truly is something for everyone. There's even a pizza oven available, allowing guests to enjoy a freshly made pizza whenever they please. In fact, the sun deck offers an array of amenities befitting a superyacht of this size, and allows guests to comfortably spend the entire day without having to worry about a thing. Soaking up some sun, enjoying a morning coffee one of the sun loungers, having shade-covered lunch at the central dining table followed by a quick dip in the Jacuzzi.

Possibilities are endless, and with a vast collection of toys available, there truly is something for everyone, ensuring there will never a dull moment onboard Ulysses.
