Last April, acclaimed Italian shipyard Perini Navi delivered the highly anticipated ketch Fidelis. This being their 51st unit to date, Perini Navi once again confirms their highly deserved status of world leader as a producer of large sailing and motor yachts. The latest addition to their fleet represents a new generation in the yard’s successful 56 metres series, which now adds up to an impressive total of eleven, setting an industry record.
The vessel’s design was realized after successful collaboration between Perini’s in-house design department and Ron Holland Design. An emphasis has been made on enabling guests to enjoy life outside on deck, with generously spaced outdoor areas and two cockpits, one fore and one aft respectively.
Seating a company of up to twelve guests, the fore cockpit consists of two L-shaped sofa, situated near the main mast, and has been fitted with two removable tables. With added waterproof canvas awning and built-in lighting, this area is perfect for outside entertaining day and night. The front deck functions as a big outside terrace, enabling panorama views from the cockpit and supplying a great setting for having a drink and enjoying the sunset. The vessel’s two tenders can also be placed here, below deck and completely out of sight.
Two wide exterior walkways safely guide guests and crew between the fore and aft deck areas, the latter housing Fidelis’ second cockpit area. Designed to be more private and secluded, without compromising on views or comfort, here guests can perfectly enjoy ample al fresco dining or simply relax on one of the three additional couches or two armchairs, enjoying the panorama’s and cocktails. From here, an exterior staircase leads up to the fly bridge, offering a big area for sunning and lounging. Starboard side, an additional outside dining area can be created by simply adjoining two available tables into one. The big sunbeds situated aft side nicely complete this delightful area designed for enjoying sun, sea, and a gentle breeze.
Both the vessel’s exterior and interior designs are defined by their distinctively clean lines. Inside, this concept is emphasized by the application of pure materials such as walnut, steal, marble and leather. The main saloon boasts a look that is a remarkably clean yet warm, bathing in natural light. The area space is roughly divided into a dining and living area, divided by the centrally placed main staircase and separated by two elegant sliding glass doors. The main saloon’s lounging area invites guests to sit down and relax, with a clean and balanced palette of warm natural colours.
Windows on either side ensure guests from perfect vistas, whether sitting on one of two comfortable sofas or any of the four available armchairs, all cozily situated around a centrally placed coffee table. With a delicate lighting scheme perfectly framing the design scheme, the area offers guests sublime enjoyment while taking in the surrounding views, watching the big flat-screen television or simply experiencing each other’s company.
The same atmosphere has been integrated into the main saloon’s dining area, where a company of up to twelve guests can be placed. Additionally, a games and cards area can be found on the starboard side. Separating the main saloon from the wheelhouse, glass sliding doors supply privacy without cutting off the view.
All guest cabins are situated on the vessel’s lower deck, with a grand, centrally placed full beam stateroom as centre piece of the Owner’s quarters. With office and couch ports areas this area offers an impressively spacious retreat. The quarter’s two large heads, separated by a centrally placed dressing room, compliment the area, offering a large bathtub and shower area respectively.
The yacht’s four guest cabins, situated front of the Owner’s suite, have all been fitted with queen-sized beds while two have additional Pullmans. Each guest cabin has an en suite bathroom with big shower, desk area and a couch.
With the transom’s ability to open and become a sea-level platform with staircase leading into the water and the vessel’s array of water toys and sports equipment that can be loaded and unloaded through a port side hatch, Fidelis offers everything imaginable for a stay as comfortable, stylish and relaxing as one could hope for, and more.
