Last January, acclaimed Italian shipyard CRN, with a history spanning over 50 years, launched their largest pleasure yacht to date. As the new prima donna of Italian yachting, majestic superyacht Chopi Chopi boasts a large collection of very exciting features and, impressively, one private deck exclusively available for the owner. A true jewel, she is a brightly sparkling vessel with eminence and now, for the very first time, unveiling her decks and shedding ample light on what makes her such an intriguing superyacht. After being flown in to attend the launching ceremony, and having a private tour during this year's edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, Chopi Chopi has certainly impressed us.
Just by sheer size, Chopi Chopi can easily be categorised as a megayacht, with an impressive LOA of 80 metres and a 13.5 metre beam. She was built entirely at the shipyard's Ancona facilities, which can accommodate vessels of up to 90 metres LOA, and was launched from there during a festive ceremony on January 12th. The five deck pinnacle of elegance, excluding the sub-lower deck for technical areas, boasts an impressive array of spacious guest areas, lavish accommodations and some surprising features that, all combined, assure every guest a magnificent stay onboard.
With an overall layout that boasts some surprising and well thought out features, all guest accommodations (two twin suites, three doubles and one VIP), are located on the main deck, excluding the lush master suite. This leaves the lower deck predominantly dedicated to crew and staff cabins, plus an impressively sized, luxurious beach club which, as we would soon discover, is directly accessible from the wonderfully grand, open and spacious main saloon.
The upper deck contains an equally impressive and large upper saloon, the centrally located bar and a superb formal dining room. With it's surprising circular layout, the panoramic bridge found can be easily added to the plentiful cool features that are to be discovered onboard Chopi Chopi's. The outstanding owner's deck houses a sumptuous master suite plus additional staff cabin, private and impressively spacious fore and aft decks.
Chopi Chopi is the impressive result of the intensive cooperation between the CRN engineering team for naval architecture, Studio Zuccon International Project for the superyacht’s exterior features and her layouts, and Laura Sessa for the design of furniture and interiors. With regards to her exterior look, Chopi Chopi boasts the image of a true contemporary motoryacht, full of confidence. As a whole, the vessel was conceived as a “family home”, which is reflected in the overall airy and light ambiance, impressive sense of space, an intricate softness and a perfect sense of luxurious cosiness. Everywhere her guests are, they have a particularly luxurious sense of openness and, above all, a direct visual contact with the sea.
The overall interior design is perfectly combines warm contemporary style with a subtle classic sense of elegance. Starting with the main saloon, which is a wonderfully spacious, open area that combines sumptuous, chic lounging with some delightful vista views and a luxurious sense of style. Invitingly large, modern sofas and armchairs welcome and soothe, while the warm palette of natural colours is seamlessly blended with luxurious and precious materials such as marble, leather and stainless steel. Taking into account the impressive size of this superyacht, with an indoor floor area of 1,000 sq. metres and exterior spaces adding up to 800 sq. metres, there is a distinctly cosy and intimate atmosphere to be felt everywhere onboard, not in the least inside the generously sized main saloon.
From the main saloon, a staircase aft leads directly down into the sumptuous, and impressively sized, beach club. Here, a guest corridor leads into a big, fully equipped gymnasium, from where one can enter the central hallway giving access to the big massage room, lush spa area, day head and, last but certainly not least, the sumptuous swim platform, making this beach club particularly impressive with regards to size, luxury and ambiance.
Lightness, openness and an soothing sense of well being can be enjoyed throughout this whole area, an undoubtable guest favourite. With this exquisite beach club, equipped with a collection of comfy and stylish furniture such as armchairs and sun loungers, located nearby main saloon and the spacious main aft deck, makes this whole area into one of airiness and utter relaxation. The latter boasts a panoramic and spacious cockpit area that is nothing short of amazing, with large sofas and armchairs, all framed by dramatic vista views, are presented to guests in a rich, modern-classic design.
With it's wonderful sense of lightness and space, this main aft deck is, without a doubt, one of Chopi Chopi's many valuable features.
Moving fore, from the main saloon through the central guest lobby with it's spiralling staircase and a big elevator connecting all decks, one finds a second lobby and corridor connecting all main deck guests suites and a big study.
Starting with the latter, a spacious private office with big desk, lounge area and big flatscreen television, all designed in Chopi Chopi's soft, natural style of contemporary lushness, is at the guests' disposal. But making this big room truly remarkable, the simple push of one button dramatically opens up the bulwark to transform into a full size balcony with railing in an instant.
Big glass sliding doors open up the room and bring the outside in, and the inside out, morphing this room from office to the lavish, panoramic floating office of your dreams.
The exquisite feature of an elegant and large balcony can also be found on the guest suite found opposite from the business room, with a large double stateroom, an impressively big walk-in wardrobe and spacious en suite all designed in Chopi Chopi's splendid style of natural luxury. It's very easy to imagine waking up in the morning, and pushing one button to open up the cozy stateroom to the magnificent surroundings, creating one's own private balcony accessorised by dramatic vista views. A delicate and welcoming style, subtly luxurious design combined with ample amenities, this suite, like all other guest accommodations on board Chopi Chopi, is simply delightful. Every suite is designed in a similar style and brightened up with it's personal colour to accentuate a specific personality.
Dreamy blue, bubbly orange and vibrant purple, every stateroom has a particular sense of style, even applied in the works of art. Three double suites, two twins (one of which is an extra staff cabin, adding to the two staff cabins found on the lower deck) and one full beam VIP suite turn Chopi Chopi into a delightful home for every guest lucky enough to spend time on board. The VIP, with silver as accent colour, boasts a lush full beam stateroom with big lounge and, like all staterooms, big panoramic windows. With a big starboard side terrace, this too is a picture perfect example of how guests onboard are pampered with luxury yet offered accommodation that is delicately designed and stylish without becoming overly abundant or extravagantly glamorous. Chopi Chopi is, as mentioned, a family home, with warmth, comfort and an atmosphere of safety and chic coziness as core values.
With the VIP, the big stateroom is light and airy, accompanied by a spacious dressing room and large, lavish en suite. Overall, Chopi Chopi's main deck guest suites are sumptuous yet delicate, spacious yet intimate and cool yet warm, all wrapped up in a stylish package of modern Italian design.
Perfectly framing Chopi Chopi sense of natural luxury, there is an exquisite, and impressively versatile, collection of art to be enjoyed throughout, in every guest area. Mostly contemporary, the pieces reflect and add to every room's design and emphasise the chic onboard ambiance. Upstairs, the upper saloon presents some of many examples of artworks as perfect additions and extensions to a room's general character. Various paintings and sculptural pieces add to the more informal style of this large room, with large, modern sofas and two game tables as key ingredients. Red is the colour that accentuates this space's design scheme, which is framed by large windows adding that familiar sense of openness. Moving fore through the central guest lobby, arguablt one of the coolest areas onboard Chopi Chopi can be found, in the form of a sophisticated American bar.
Here, a big panel of backlit onyx ornaments the front of the bar, adding greatly to the room's ambiance, which already boasts plenty of vibrance with it's orange armchairs and contemporary bar stool in stainless steel and white leather.
Moving fore, the formal dining room presents another picture perfect example of Chopi Chopi's lightness, with a large, modern dining table surrounded by inviting chairs, with glossy and playful lighting fixtures and big, glass sliding windows on both sides that easily open up this room for airy and elegant dining at it's absolute's best.
Fore of the main dining room, a particularly impressive bridge is located. With a grand, futuristic yet warm design, and circular shape, almost 360 degrees of views undoubtedly turn this room into one of perfect functionality as well as guest enjoyment.
This upper deck, too, offers various impressively spacious exterior areas. Aside from the side decks, which are wide everywhere on board, the upper aft deck offers a large central seating with sofas and chairs, various intimate lounge areas, and big al fresco dining area. This deck is simply combines coziness, openness and elegance in a remarkable way, with a chic ambiance welcoming every guests and making them feel right at home. The panoramic Portuguese deck fore perfectly completes this upper decks collection of lush guest areas.
Moving upstairs, the owner's deck is simply a pinnacle of luxury and gracious style. Here, one can discover a semicircular, panoramic stateroom fore, accompanied by a lush en suite and large his and hers walk-in wardrobes. The overall sense of natural style instantly feels pleasant and relaxing, with the welcoming views from the stateroom adding ample amounts of natural light.
The soft warmth and light airiness of the spacious en suite, with it's chic sense of modern elegance, is outstanding and, along with the big dressing rooms, turns these master quarters into delightfully stylish accommodations that will impress and relax everyone lucky enough to spend time here. Moving outside, the owner's private foredeck boasts ample space for sunbathing, with large loungers and sun pads, plus a private Jacuzzi, as main ingredients.
Aft, an additional VIP suite, perfectly suitable for either guests or staff, can be found. Moving outside, passing the owner's private television room, an exquisite aft deck completes Chopi Chopi's magnificent owner's deck. A big lounge areas, ample space for sunbathing, loungers and wonderful views, all with by bimini shades, turn this space into a true delight. Impressively, this deck can also be used as helicopter platform.
To top off Chopi Chopi's amazing array of luxurious rooms and amenities, a large sun deck with second Jacuzzi, big sun pads and second al fresco dining area aft, completes this megayacht's character of chic style, warm elegance and pure luxury.
