With a clear design concept based on a light, modern interior and massive volumes, Italian shipyard Palumbo launched the Columbus 177 Prima earlier this year. With naval architecture by Sergio Cutolo and Tommaso Spadolini of Spadolini Studio Design signed up for her interior designs, Prima is an excellent example of the pure, meticulous and refined design Italians have become renowned for worldwide. Add to that the accomplishment of being rewarded a RINA Green Star Plus Platinum and an ABS Classification, the former being all the more prestigious for being awarded by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco in the presence of His Majesty the King of Spain, Prima turns out to be not merely elegant but certified environmentally friendly as well.
Her LOA of just under 54 metres leaves ample room for a layout consisting of a collection of exceptionally large spaces, both inside and out. For instance; her sundeck measure an impressive 20 metres, without any deck space spent on tender storage since Prima’s two tenders are stored in an internal facility, located below the main deck for easy acess.
Guest and owner areas measure a total of 350 m2, where one is instantly immersed into a lavish sense of space upon boarding. Both the main and upper aft decks are equally sizeable, offering a variety of lounging areas in both formal and intimate settings, as well as elegant set-ups for countless enjoyable breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
Every piece of furniture seems to be of an unmistakeable Italian pedigree, showing a sense of style that is both recognizable and refined. Clear lines without abundance, but with exquisite attention to detail are permanently present throughout. This signature can be experienced clearly in the main saloon, which is a light, intimate yet stately space with a collection of large, impeccably off-white invitingly modern sofas and armchairs. This space offers the ideal atmosphere for countless enjoyable get-togethers, obviously in comfort and style. Precious materials like the finest quality Italian marbles, woods and leather are used intelligently, meticulously framing the balanced design.
With the Owner’s quarters located on the fore main deck, two doubles and two twins on the lower deck and an extra VIP cabin on the upper deck, Prima offers ample space and privacy for a company of up to twelve guests.
The overall design of warm minimalism and a stylish palette of dark wood and light colours has been integrated consistently throughout the vessel, making guests feel at home wherever they wish to spend their time. Whether in their intimate and sizeable private cabin, of course with en-suite bathroom, in one of the ships two lusciously spacious saloons or on any of the outside areas, guests are assured an overall delightful blend of natural light, space and luxury, all this covered with a crisp clean layer of Italian style.
The upper deck offers a second big saloon area. With a sitting area, bar and a coffee table including comfortable armchairs, all set in a more intimate rendition of Prima’s signature design, guests are offered an array of possibilities for spending time. As the upper aft deck boasts a more informal interpretation of the main aft deck area, the main deck generally can be considered a more grand and formal area whereas the upper deck is more intimate and informal, both equally stylish and supplied with every thinkable luxury.
The most spacious, yet private, outside area on board Prima is her remarkable sundeck. With an impressively large surface, sunbeds, dining area, lounging corner and a fully equipped bar, this luscious space is perfect for those seeking privacy while soaking up some sun or relishing shade, enjoying a soft breeze and the panorama views. The big size Jacuzzi perfectly completes the yacht’s impressive array of amenities, combining delicate style with high-end technology and supreme comfort.
What makes Prima just that bit extra special, is that she is the Palumbo shipyard first ever superyacht project, which makes the overall level of quality and attention to detail all the more remarkable. Undoubtedly, Prima has been a first major step on a promising journey that will undoubtedly have a lot of interesting projects to look forward to.
Prima is for sale with Fraser Yachts and is asking €24,500,000.
