Superyacht of the week: The groundbreaking Galactica Star

First off, Galactica Star boasts a revolutionary Fast Displacement Hull Shape, with a sophisticated hydrodynamic design, allowing her to reduce her environmental impact by up to 30 percent. Even more impressive, this reduction does not take away from her performance, as she is able to reach top speeds of 28.8 knots. However, being extremely fast and impressively fuel-efficient are by far not her only strongpoints. A delightful sense of style is also one of her many prominent qualities. With exteriors designed by Omega Architects and naval architecture by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, Galactica Star shows off curvy strength and an unmistakable elegance, mixed up in a sleek, recognisable look that makes this superyacht so delightfully appealing.

Her revolutionary hull shape and advanced design, with a superstructure that is sleek and manages to avoid the familiar stacked effect, are responsible for her reduced fuel consumption as well as her impressive looks. Galactica Star is all elegance, definitely raising the bar on every front while renewing and redefining the way superyachts are designed. And although she has an undeniable modern look, she certainly upholds a classic finesse with her graciously sportive lines and a smooth, elongated and slender silhouette.

In short, Galactica Star's is a contemporary and intriguing superyacht that will make a smashing debut at the MYS.

There's an inviting sense of generosity to be enjoyed everywhere onboard. Instantly upon boarding, Galactica Star presents us with spacious decks and a sense of style that is classically warm and contemporarily luxurious. With all interiors designed by Bannenberg & Rowell Design, her style is warmly modern and lush, without being overly exuberant or extravagant.

One is welcomed on a striking aft deck that is impressively spacious and open, while retaining a remarkably private feel due to the slender, curved superstructure beams that screen the deck from too much curiosity from the outside world. Large inviting furnishing in soft, natural tones and modern shapes, creates a breezy yet cozy ambiance of tranquility, in an ambiance that pleasantly floats somewhere between interior privacy and exterior openness. The big aft Jacuzzi, the first of two onboard Galactica Star, perfectly utilises the dramatic aft views and presents guests with a large slice of divine luxury. The first slice of many, in fact, as this aft deck is just the beginning of the many wonderful things Galactica Star has to offer. Two large L-shaped sofas, accompanied by a set of contemporary armchairs, form the heart of an outdoor lounge that offers the intimacy of a private beach house and the luxury and style of a lavish penthouse.

The aft deck organically flows into the main saloon, with large sliding glass doors leading inside to the primary interior guest area. Eloquently stylish, with a colour palette based on chocolate, caramel, gold and various soft grey hues, the main saloon boasts a style that might arguably be best described as warm metropolitan, contemporary and eloquently chic.

The main saloon, with aft lounge, central bar and formal dining fore, combines lightness with a mysterious elegance and subtle glamour, a smooth and modern style that exudes sleek softness. The backlit, marble-topped bar is set in an area with leather-clad wall paneling, modern ceiling lighting and slender bar stools.

Fore, the dining area has a large, gently curved dining table, surrounded by modern dining chairs. The dramatic contemporary lighting fixtures are some of the many eye catchers. The aft lounge is a chic and soft space with a warm, modern style. Overall, the main saloon offers an organic layout with the three main areas flowing into each other, with large panoramic windows assuring the flow of natural light.

Moving fore, through the central lobby with a dramatic main staircase, with high gloss flooring, plush carpeting, cool metal and dark, curvy walls, one reaches the owner's suite. Spacious and intimate, light with mysteriously dark elements, luxurious and refined, this suite simply offers anything one could hope for, in a perfectly chic design.

Like anywhere onboard Galactica Star, there is an undeniable richness combined with a subtle softness, with well balanced palettes of colours, materials and textures that offer ample contrast and a soothing sense of harmony.

Galactica Star's interior designs have a personality all of their own, each one seamlessly adding to a larger scheme of delightful style.

From the light and panoramic owner's office to the warm tactility of the stateroom and the and the cool, toned down gloss of the lush en suite, the master suite is contemporary, refined luxury at it's best.

Galactica Star offers lush guest accommodation for a company of up to twelve. Belowdecks, four perfectly appointed and delightfully stylish suites offer guests the privacy and luxury one can expect from a superyacht of this stature. On the upper deck, an extra VIP suite is available, designed with Galactica Star's familiar sense of modern warmth and tactile finesse. Overall, every guest suite is richly designed and offers a wide selection of luxury amenities, with the VIP suite having a generously sized en suite as extra bonus.

An upper deck saloon and generously sized aft deck, including big al fresco dining area, form a wonderful guest area in a more informal rendition of Galactica Star's style.

An intimate and cozy lounge, chic bar area and a semi-separate private office area, the latter of which can be configured into an extra guest suite with private en suite, reflect a great style, high levels of luxury and an attractive ambiance.

Along with the aft deck, with al fresco dining area, aft lounge and stunning panoramic views, the upper deck is a greatly versatile and stylish guest area.

Along with excellent guest accommodations, Galactica Star hosts a collection of equally impressive exterior areas that will have guests enjoy their time onboard to the fullest. Aside from the main and upper aft decks, there is an amazing beach club which is impressively spacious and stylish. With a lounge, large bar and two swimming and sunbathing platforms, one aft and one port side, the airy beach club is all about sun, sea, fun and relaxation, in a light, modern style of light wood and grey tones, with ample natural light. Large wicker armchairs, lounging sofas, bar stools and sun loungers assure endless hours of relaxation for everyone.

From breakfast and lunch to late night cocktail parties, this large deck, like many areas onboard Galactica Star, excels in size and versatility.

To top it all off, the sun deck offers an array of amenities with more than enough to enjoy for everyone. From the big panoramic cockpit fore, the bar and lounge areas, the aft Jacuzzi and the big sun pads, the sun deck is an outstanding finale for a superyacht that is exquisite in every sense.
