Superyacht of the Week: the secret spy superyacht Spectre

Written by Charl van Rooy

Delivering an eye-watering top speed of 52 knots, from the moment one steps on board Spectre you realise that she has been built with one purpose in mind: speed. This Bond-approved speedster delivers the best of the worlds of fast cruising and family-friendly features. We take a closer look at this silver bullet and what is hiding beneath that sleek profile.

Her tremendous speed is derived from three MAN engines each delivering 1900 hp that is coupled with waterjets from MJP. Spectre is capable of cruising at a more manageable speed of 44 knots, the shipyard reports.

Her sleek exterior is finished in two tones of silver paint, creating an aggressive appearance that perfectly matches her performance credentials.

A second steering position is located on the flybridge where an L-shaped sofa and two sunbeds can also be found.

The foredeck features two coffee tables, a spacious U-shaped sofa and another comfortable sunbed.

The aft cockpit features a large dining table for eight guests, perfect for enjoying al fresco dining experiences.

The available interior volumes have been maximised through the use of minimalistic furniture, an open plan layout and an abundance of bright surfaces to have guest areas appear even larger.

Below deck Spectre accommodates six guests in an amidships full beam master suite and a further two guests cabins up forward.
