Just 10 months after making its debut into the superyacht industry, Antonini Navi has secured an expression of interest in the builder’s custom-designed OPV 56 (Offshore Patrol Vessel), a 56-metre, sub-500 GT superyacht.Antonini Navi OPV 56 project exterior designPhoto: Antonini NaviThe military-inspired vessel was designed over the course of several months, with architect Fulvio De Simoni orchestrating the design and Antonini Navi’s technical office taking control of the engineering and preliminary planning work.Antonini Navi OPV 56 project exterior designPhoto: Antonini NaviThe superyacht OPV 56 has been designed with “functionalism” at its heart, in that each individual feature is intended to reflect necessity and purpose. Naval architect Fulvio De Simoni notes that simplicity translates to satisfaction: “At sea, simplicity is an added value: seagoing performance, easy to use onboard spaces and services, and rational construction are qualities that experienced owners cannot fail to appreciate.”Antonini Navi OPV 56 project exterior designPhoto: Antonini NaviThe vessel’s exteriors are characterised by an imposing high bow and smooth, pared down lines. Guests can arrive on the superyacht via a helipad located on OPV 56 's continuous foredeck. The upper deck is designated entirely to the master’s suite. The superyacht features ample deck spaces, including a more than 150 square-metre aft deck.Antonini Navi OPV 56 project exterior designPhoto: Antonini NaviAldo Manna, Antonini Navi Partner and Sales director, hopes that the formal expression of intention can soon be actualised: “Our hope is that this recently formalised expression of interest will soon become reality and in the near future we will see the OPV 56 project ride the waves around the world.”Antonini Navi OPV 56 project exterior designPhoto: Antonini Navi
