SYT visited to one of Moonen Shipyards' subcontractors last week, to see the first yacht in their Matica series under construction. The steel hull is progressing well. It is designed to allows for an impressive turn of speed, low fuel consumption and high comfort levels.
Matica has been designed by Rene van der Velden. Adam Lay will design her interior and she will have the owner’s suite on the main deck, as per request of the client. The master stateroom has an interesting layout, with the bathroom placed on the portside of the room. Down below are a full beam VIP cabin, and two twin cabins.
The Matica hull, designed by Diana Yacht Design, is based on the hull of the Moonen 97, ensuring comfortable seakeeping and low fuel consumption. Her steeper bow gives a narrower waterline entrance and a longer waterline, further increasing comfort at sea and fuel economy.
The first Moonen Matica is scheduled for completion in May 2016.
