Sailing Yacht A arriving at the Isle of Man
Photo: Nick HorsthuisMeasuring at 142.8-metre in length, Sailing Yacht A is classified as the longest sail-assisted motor yacht in the world. Delivered in 2017 by the German shipyard Nobiskrug, her exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Philippe Starck, with Dykstra Naval Architects behind her naval platform and rig design. Constructed mostly in steel, composite and carbon fibre were incorporated to reduce the overall weight. In addition to her 100-metre high carbon fibre masts, Sailing Yacht Aย has eight decks, connected by multiple elevators, and is operated by a crew of 54 members. She is outfitted with a unique underwater viewing pod moulded into her keel, offering an immersive underwater experience. The superyacht Sailing Yacht A was seen here arriving at the Isle of Man.
