North Wind Yachts in Barcelona, Spain has put its production facilities up for sale following plans to relocate. The yard offers an excellent location in which to develop a marine business in the Mediterranean, says North Wind, providing good opportunities for yacht construction, repair and refit activities, sales and brokerage and any other marine-related business.
North Wind’s facilities include a fully equipped production hall measuring 60m (L) x 30m (W) x 23m (H) and a five-storey office with outstanding Mediterranean views. An external esplanade measuring close to 12,000m2 is also available for repair and refit works. North Wind has already sold its northern hall to the Barcelona World Race Foundation.
Located a few minutes away from Barcelona city centre and 15 minutes from Barcelona international airport, the North Wind facilities are located at the entrance of Barcelona Harbour, and is on passage for yachts sailing to the private yachting clubs and marinas of Barcelona. The location is surrounded by excellent infrastructure, including the new “W”-Hotel.
A final urban plan includes the construction of a new marina with more than 200 moorings for yachts from 15m-50m (49ft-164ft), with a total investment of €240m.
The facilities are currently under government concession until 2024, but the area available and the duration of the concession will be extended in the near future. North Wind says that it has invested over €4.5m in its shipyard, repair & refit facilities.
