Since our launch over a decade ago, the SuperYacht Times media team has been on the forefront of delivering breaking industry news and completely dedicated to developing the most exciting superyacht stories from all over the world. Travelling to shows and events is a large part of this process, as is chasing the stories wherever they may be. So, here is our February edition of the monthly SuperYacht Times’ recaps, to share with you, our readers, a behind-the-scenes look at our team here in Amsterdam.
First YPY the Netherlands of 2018
As one of the main sponsors of Young Professionals in Yachting the Netherlands, the SYT team headed to the YPY Club House, Amsterdam’s beautiful Scheepvaartmuseum, on Friday 2nd February for an evening of virtual reality and networking.
Miami International Boat Show
Sales Manager Martijn Westerink, Digital Editor Charl van Rooy and Director Merijn de Waard escaped the freezing temperatures of Holland in mid-Feb to attend the 2018 edition of the Miami International Boat Show. Check out our photo gallery here.
Spotting Oceanco Project Shark
Charl and our in-house photographer Tom van Oossanen headed out to Alblasserdam to capture the moment that Oceanco’s 90-metre Project Shark was rolled out of the shed for the first time. Watch the video here.
Visit to Balk Shipyard
Assistant Editor Georgia Tindale and Sales Director Eddie Kloosterman visited our friends at Balk Shipyard, for a quick tour around their facilities and a catch up on the exciting projects currently in the Dutch yard’s sheds.
SuperYacht Times office borrel
We hosted a Dutch ‘borrel’ (No English translation, but basically, a small party) at the end of February, welcoming a number of industry peers to our canalside office in the centre of Amsterdam.
Dubai International Boat Show
To wrap up another busy month, Eddie, Tom, Charl and Merijn all headed to Dubai for the 26th edition of the Dubai International Yacht Show. Check out our photo gallery of the opening day of the event here.
