New brand identity unveiled for SuperYacht Times

At SuperYacht Times, we constantly seek out new ways to deliver the best experience for our users. That's why, starting from today, you will see some significant changes to our website, newspaper and social media channels. These changes, including a new logo, font and colour palette, have been a long time coming, and are the culmination of a lot of hard work and our response to your feedback. Following a lifelong passion for superyachts, Merijn de Waard established the company in 2005, aiming to create the best platform for superyacht enthusiasts, be it yacht owners, industry professionals or passionate admirers. As of today, our purpose is still the same; that "SuperYacht Times brings enjoyment and inspiration to superyacht enthusiasts."SuperYacht Times at workPhoto: SuperYacht TimesThe rebranding follows a hugely successful year for SuperYacht Times, during which the team doubled from 14 to 28 people. Commenting on the growth, Merijn said, “When the pandemic really hit Europe in March 2020, we did not know what to expect, however we continued to invest, especially in people and in technology. We started with a series of successful webinars, bought the software company YachtEye, started work on the game-changing virtual world SYT 3D and built an in-house technology team. We hired some very good new people in all areas of the business – aligning our strategy and a full rebranding was the next logical step.” 

This strategy of investing in our team and in technology has already paid off. Thanks to the consistently thorough coverage of the superyacht market by our editorial and intelligence teams, we have seen an impressive growth of nearly 20% in traffic in 2020. 

Strong product portfolio

SYT iQ, our market-leading superyacht intelligence system, has seen strong growth as well, and as of today, almost all top shipyards and brokers are using it. This growth has been predominantly driven by the excellent reputation that SuperYacht Times has built in the intelligence sector since its foundation. 

“When I was around 16 I was on a mission to identify and photograph every single superyacht around the world. Accuracy was, and still is, our top priority and it was a tedious task back then to keep track of the market,” recalls Merijn de Waard. “Twenty years later we are still chasing yachts, but now with a full in-house team who are as passionate about yachts as I am.”SuperYacht Times at workPhoto: SuperYacht TimesWhat makes SYT iQ unique is that it helps our clients in doing their daily business, from creating instant branded brochures, to finding the name of a yacht’s owner.

At SuperYacht Times we have always proven to be creative and our recently unveiled game-changing virtual world SYT 3D has had a lot of positive feedback from yacht owners, professionals and enthusiasts alike. Stay tuned as we will launch an update soon! 

And last but not least, we have invested in our video team who are now on the road almost every week, creating entertaining and engaging videos for our clients. Our unique documentary-style videos work extremely well at engaging clients, as proven by the video we created for Volvo Penta on the Sanlorenzo SX112, which had over 235,000 views on YouTube
