Superyacht Tumberry C under refit at Atollvic Shipyard

Atollvic Shipyard based in Vigo, Spain - part of the Vicalsa Group, which has been providing solutions to the shipbuilding industry for more than 30 years - is working on the refit of the hull and superstructure of superyacht Tumberry C.

The shipyard has been commissioned to complete a variety of refit jobs including the painting of the steel hull and part of the aluminium superstructure, as well as replacing the main teak deck and work on the interior furniture.

The 49 metre displacement motor yacht, which was built in 1988 by Italian boat builder Benetti, arrived at Atollvic’s Super Yacht Service Centre earlier this month. The work is anticipated to take three months to complete. The yard’s Technical Office is working closely with the owner and crew throughout the refit.

As specialists in the construction, refit and repair of luxury sail and motor yachts, Atollvic was the chosen yard for the refit because of its experience and proven expertise in completing maintenance and repair operations for superyachts such as the Tumberry C. The shipyard’s convenient location in the estuary of Vigo in North-West Spain was also a deciding factor.

Diego Gomez, Commercial and Marketing Director at Atollvic, said: “We are delighted to be working on the motor yacht Tumberry C and to be completing this work which is a special request from the owner. Atollvic has a 14,000 square metre superyacht service facility and accommodating yachts such as the Tumberry C is always a pleasure for us. We are proud to have a very positive relationship with the owner and crew of the vessel and are doing everything in our power to ensure that the work will be completed to the satisfaction of the client ahead of schedule.”
