Low-slung furniture and minimalist window surrounds allow sightlines and seascapes to dominate, while the colour palette is tonal and understated, designed to recede in deference to shifting horizons. “Instead of showy statements, we worked with warmth and refinement – the grain of the wood, the stitch of the leather, the way light moves across a ceiling at sunset,” Horsfield explains.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/374564/image/large-4f31562f404094172aa36584e9e34c46.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/374564">Texture is the unifying theme. Guest cabins are anchored by rippled leather feature walls by Alex Hull, while custom carpets by Atelier Pinton enrich both acoustics and ambience. Satin-finished timbers contrast with gloss Macassar veneers, with stitched leather trims at every touchpoint. Above, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2’s</a> signature ripple ceilings in CNC-carved timber add a sculptural dimension, catching natural light in shifting patterns throughout the day.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/374568/image/large-aaf44553e499a14c9db38b63c6305ca0.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/374568">The principal suite is a standout, with a forward-facing bed framed by a hand-sculpted wraparound headboard by Helen Amy Murray. On the upper deck, a wellness lounge links directly to the jacuzzi, bar and sauna, with a reconfigurable gym nearby. During the build, a late modification even transformed the ship’s office into a dedicated massage room – a gesture of adaptability that reflects the owner’s lifestyle focus.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/375472/image/large-86172d07751c3464cd1e5f4e997016e6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/375472">Perhaps most striking is the lower-deck tender hangar, which exemplifies the Xplorer philosophy of dual-use. With interiors by the in-house team at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1821" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Damen Yachting (Company)">Damen Yachting</a>, she has four guest staterooms and offers the opportunity for overflow accommodation as well as accommodation for expedition experts.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/369116/image/large-d7b728988a84b05a293f9ad99b50cb8b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/369116">The captain’s perspectiveFor Captain David, the real magic lies not just in the interiors or the platform, but in how the two yachts operate as a team. “Having a support vessel means the mothership doesn’t need to compromise,” he explains. “We don’t have to pack everything away to move, which avoids delays and makes the experience much smoother for the owner and guests.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/369119/image/large-bd5cdcfcfb6f166dbe4bcdfb56f35058.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/369119">It also means a different dynamic for the crew. While <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/12677" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Emotional53.25m (174'8&quot;)Damen Yachting2025">Emotional</a> may host fewer guests, her role is no less valued. “Everyone knows their role, and the crew understand they’re equally appreciated,” says David. Rotational contracts – two months on, two months off – help foster retention and cohesion, ensuring both vessels benefit from a strong and settled team.The sense of camaraderie extends beyond daily operations.
